Can someone explain to me the snubbing he receives for public meetings?
He was snubbed for last years royal wedding and this week he was snubbed for the Queens celebrations yet Blair was invited.
Do you know he was snubbed, or are you just saying you couldn't see him at these functions. He was snubbed for last years royal wedding and this week he was snubbed for the Queens celebrations yet Blair was invited.

Him Bliar and mandelson should be hung as traitors , s of the first order the lot of them , that fking shower of tts should get no respect , invites or junkets ....EVER He was snubbed for last years royal wedding and this week he was snubbed for the Queens celebrations yet Blair was invited.
Clown was at the Queen's address to both houses of Parliament this week.
There are currently four living former Prime Ministers, Thatcher, Major, Blair and Brown. Thatcher and Major are both Knights of the Garter and Companions of Honour, Thatcher is a member of the Order of Merit. As such they are likely to be invited to events such as the Royal Wedding - because of their membership of these orders over their status as former PMs per se. Blair and Brown are yet to receive any honour in recognition of their service as PM and, as such, they get invited to events only where protocol dictates the presence of former PMs (Remembrance Day for example)

It was curious that Blair and Brown were snubbed for the Royal wedding last year yet Major was invited. That could be viewed by some as the Royal family having a political affiliation which obviously is extremely poor show.
No, as previously explained, Major has had honours bestowed upon him that elevate his social standing and therefore his inclusion in this sort of event, beyond that of a former PM. Should the war criminal and his mentally unwell chum ever be honoured in the same way, they too will receive more invitations to this sort of event than they currently do.

The current Prime Minister was invited to the Royal wedding who's done fk all in his life and career, so that argument doesnt wash either.Should the war criminal and his mentally unwell chum ever be honoured in the same way, they too will receive more invitations to this sort of event than they currently do.
If you're going to invite one then invite them all. It's only two extra seats, hardly going to kill anybody.

He's the CURRENT prime minister, hence the invitation
But Guy Ritchie was invited ffs. Surely you can squeeze two former Prime Ministers - one of which actually WON an election on THREE occasions (unlike our current PM) - in there.Major was one of the trustees for Diana Spencer’s estate, personally looking after her children’s interests following her death. A position of trust within their family, which would obviously merit an invitation to one of the childrens wedding, on its own.
It's also acceptable for the couple getting married to choose who they wish to invite, hence the invitations extended to various high profile "celebrities" as well as their family and friends.
Given his pathetically poor attendance in Westminster (or any other activity, representing the people who voted for and pay him) last year and his "medical issues" IMHO it would have been inappropriate to invite winky

If it is an official state function all ex PM's are invited, if it is a family occasion it is upto the family. The wedding last year wasn't a state wedding. He was snubbed for last years royal wedding and this week he was snubbed for the Queens celebrations yet Blair was invited.
but would you want the idiot there?
