Didnt it break down on opening day? Seem to recall reading that in the metro or some free rag yesterday?

That looked a bit pants really TBH.

It was more than steep though, looked like it was beyond vertical??

That would be a cracking drop if 3 times higher.

yes broke down on opening day, "Electrical problem" - also - less than a minute for the whole ride....the Pepsi ride in Blackpool was better.

I quite like coasters, but hate the bit when it goes under another part of the ride or some reinforcing bar 'cause I'm tall and always wonder if they designed it right.

Completely irrational, I know, but there you go.

I think that's what the bloke meant by 100 degrees (ie greater than 90 degrees), ie your body goes from vertical at the top, to slightly more than horizontal during the drop.

Isn't it just like the Oblivion but a slightly more than vertical drop?

I cant see what the fuss is about. The ride "speed" at oakwood has the same "more than vertical" drop as that, and the ride is longer too.

You'd need to get your protractor out to measure any difference in angle, though the saw bits are a good idea, however tenuous.

Edit: wouldn't be suprised if this same ride has already poped up in loads of places under differet names..

How can it be the "world's steepest coaster" if it's at 100 degrees? 90 degrees is as steep as you can get - 100 degrees is just 80 degrees upside down.

Yes, the drop is actually inverted, so you don't just drop straight down, you go slightly back on yourself!

Awesome!

I love 'em, I dont however like the extortionate entrance fees to the parks and the crowds and queues,

As such I dont go very often, once a year maybe and I always shell out on the "golden ticket" things to skip the queues.
