Apparently an estimated 65,000 people turned out in Bath today to watch the torch relay pass through. It was a great atmosphere thumbup

It went on through Bitton rather than Keynsham for some bizarre reason...

Yup - the centre of Bristol was rammed too, which was great to see.

Looked good to me.

Crowds were happy and so were all those taking part. This tour does seem to make the Olympcs closer to us all.

I skived (i.e. left work ~90mins earlier than I would have done). Will catch up the time later in the week.

The general impression was of people leaving work early (it came through Bath between 3:30 and 4:30) or popping out to see it before going back. It's not an "all-day" thing and has pretty accurate timings available online.

It gives me hope for this country, so many people so happy to see the torch, the crowds are massive!

Sometimes I need reminding that we can be a right grumpy bunch of s on here.

I went to see it in Swindon today, I'm not fussed by the olympics in general but felt I should attend this as it was in my home town, and probably won't be again. It was also a nice event to take my son too.

Have to say, it was over a lot quicker then I expected, I managed to see the torch for about 4 seconds!

All gone a bit quiet on this thread so I thought I'd just mention that the flame is travelling into a foreign country today. It's being run around the streets of Dublin - although I've heard it's starting off in the seaside village of Howth - which is where my dad comes from and only three miles from where I was brought up.
Howth is about 8 miles from Dublin city centre and the run along the coast into the city is quite picturesque.

Hope the weather stays OK for them.

Thanks for the warning. With any luck, they'll set themselves on fire - that hair gel is probably quite inflamable.

The Mrs and I were awoken at 5.55 the following morning as the torch was leaving from outside our cottage... this time I got pics..

smile

it's passing my office next week as well I beleive...
