Does anyone know if this is genuine? Can't see why someone would be filming him.

Yes it is genuine. Has been posted on the BBC live feed aswell. I can only imagine he has seen the gunman with the firearm on his shoulder prior to whipping out his phone.https://mobile.twitter.com/NUFCinnocent/status/756...

BBC just broadcast this. The camerman may have stared filming in general when hearing or seeing something else happen, as in the full video you can see people fleeing a shop when this guy pulls a gun.https://mobile.twitter.com/NUFCinnocent/status/756...

Same video on BBC site. Was gonna say that handguns are not the usual Jihadi tool. https://mobile.twitter.com/NUFCinnocent/status/756...
Those people are only feet away, kids as well. Awful.
I think they attack on a Friday because in their eyes all good Muslims will be at prayer so won't be out shopping.
The whabist doctrine is a cancer growing on the face of the civilised world.
Sticking a band aid on doesn't stop cancer so the west needs to remove the problem at its root to stop further growth.
Things might be hard for a while if the Saudis play hardball with their oil and cash but the matter at hand is more important than peoples Bank balances.
An alternative that should be immediately investigated is swapping our oil business to Venezuela, they need the cash too so we can make a deal.
We have to treat Wahabism like we did with the Nazis back when they posed a threat

An interesting take. The whabist doctrine is a cancer growing on the face of the civilised world.

Sadly, one thing which is not helping security forces tackle extremism is the ongoing, uncontrolled movement of migrants.

I don't know what this solution. Maybe you or Wayne could tell me.there's a video making the rounds where a munich citizen is shouting predictable insults from his high-rise flat at one of the assailants on the parking deck. he even responds with "i was born in germany".
the argument goes on for a while and ends with shots in the general direction of the person who took the video...

Early reports of Nice attack were 10 dead. Then 24. Then 50.
Hard to say yet where this one is going.
And German police routinely carry guns. When this happens here God knows how long until an armed response turns up. If it happens in Southampton or Bath or York or Preston will armed police even be in the same city?
Seems armed police are already in Preston - few weeks ago I was in a petrol station filling up and a police transit pulled up and one officer with gun, vest and other toys went inside for snacks! I suspect there are a lot of armed response officers behind the scenes.Hard to say yet where this one is going.

ETA: Too early to joke, but what else can we do?!
