The thing is, this time round, who else are the "grey voters" going to vote for?

I don't know what the government will do, but it seems to me that given its current polling position, it can afford to play a little hardball with its core base.
I think they will play very safe with their core voters and very little will be promised by any party I just wish it was next Thursday its getting depressing listening to them already.

The bigger problem is how social media is being used to spread lies once again. If you read any of the Labour led news feeds there is nothing but wall to wall good news. Everything will be free and the only people hurt will be the very rich, well those on £70k because they are very rich according to labour.

That sits well with those on £10 per hour but when their jobs go as he and the rest have fked up the economy, they will still blame the rich. There are so many who buy into his crap it is untrue.

I do not think it will be a landslide, I think there will be more tactical voting as social media makes it easier to get to ideologically brainwashed people.

The other issue is that some of the more moderate and reasonable labour MP's are now gone, being replace with chosen ones from Corbyn supporters.

Total fkwits if they think he would be a good PM,

I do think Labour will suffer badly and will lose seats to possibly three other Parties. They will defy logic and move even further left despite turning away a good deal of their core support people who remember all to well the damage Militant did to the Party.
I think May is spot on not to engage in live debates with Corbyn and Fallon why should she they have all to gain and nothing to lose

I did see an article (might have been by Nick Cohen) suggesting that Labour grass roots are simply interesting in preserving a pure socialist party so they can wait patiently for the electorate to see the light in 5, 10, 50 years time and turn the country into a north Atlantic Cuba. If they do badly in elections before that glorious day, well it's not their fault the electorate is still getting it wrong.

And yet after May saying she will continue the target for foreign aid and not saying no to removing the triple pensions lock, the polls have seen Labour half the lead the Tories had. Early days but there are enough out there who will swallow the labour promises, they have before.

What poll is that? As the Tories have increased their lead by 2% over the previous day.

The one showing the Conservatives up to 48% was by Yougov, the other showing them on a mere 40% by a marketing agency for the Mail.

Yes it was in the Mail, who as a supporter of the Tories.

If you look at what Corbyn is promising, add in 4 new bank holidays, as well as the previous wish list, £10 minimum wage, renationalise railways, kick out private firms from NHs, no zero hour contracts, scrap reduction inheritance tax and increase tax on the rich and you can see why some will be swept up in it.

Social media feeds are awash with this bks and that is where the young get their opinions from, not newspapers or TV

Oh I see, Corbyn Would be a disaster I never knew he wanted to do all this ontop of the other BS he said, people think he can pay for all this just by taxing the rich?

I think Theresa May was wrong to call an election.

That's been the Labour mantra for as long as I can remember. I can't remember it ever working though.

"potential for huge political damage"

Not nearly that as the disgraceful cuts to the disabled .

Agreed though, that they really are living on a different planet than 98% of the UKs population
The real disabled or those that claim to be?
THIS!

NO one wants to see those who need help denied it. But at the same time there's a lot of people playing the system, and given the fact that Labour burnt all the money trees we do need to cut the cloth accordingly.

When the changes were made there was a lady interviewed who was in a wheelchair and "therefore I cannot work at all" And I just thought fk off! You might not be able to do a job that involves climbing ladders, but there's no reason why she cant sit at a desk and use a computer or a worktop and assemble electrical goods or any other number of jobs out there.

I means for st sake. There are people with no arms and legs winning gold medals SWIMMING in the Paralympics! Get some fking perspective! mad

I often find the phrase about "not living in the same planet as the population" disingenuous. Yes, Politicians are a bit of an echo chamber. And a great deal of them are dodgy (on both sides) But I'll suggest that those who use that phrase are also self defeatist, half empty types with an entitlement attitude.

Life isn't fair, so work on making it the best you can and accept that, lottery win aside, you are unlikely to own a £6M house and there will be often times you have to work 45+ hours a week doing a job you don't always like.
