Brexit - was it worth it ? hell yes.
Astonishing.A small consolation is that such wilfully stupid opinions are now in a clear minority in the UK population. But unfortunately, nothing can undo the damage Brexit has done to the UK in the past several years (wealth, economic growth, governance, reputation etc etc) and which will continue to stunt the UK's growth for at least a generation.

Suggest you have a look around the World, especially Europe! it will help you find a balanced view of reality.
That's exactly what I do. I'm not sure what strange prism you observe the world through but it sure ain't reality. Edited to add a little example for you to ponder - which world leaders thought Brexit would be a good idea?
Vladimir Putin
Donald Trump
Tony Abbott (Australia's stupidest ever prime minister)
Any others? Viktor Orban perhaps?

look at the state of Europe and then tell me that all OK. The U.K. is doing just fine relative to Germany and France which we have been compared for decades.

We can pay our bills and the inflation rate.has dropped to less than half of last year, and is still dropping. BOE rate set to reduce this Summer. Some way to go but the U.K. outlook improving.
Our unemployment rate is significantly lower than France/ Germany.

So the uk should not be considered a global leader, just a regional European leader?
Didn't see that on the bus...
If the UK was being held back by the shackles of EU membership, its fortunes should be rising against all compatable countries, Shirley?
M.
That doesn't follow, various regions have their time in the sun and Europes is over when compared to other regions that are becoming the next high growth locations or have access to cheap energy.Didn't see that on the bus...

The next century will not be Europes, this is why it's important to engage with those that will see high growth and maximise what expertise we do have that is valuable to those growing regions and nations.
Matching countries like Germany is not good enough because their economic model is now doomed. UK needs to look outside Europe or it's going to suffer a similar fate.
The next 20 years will be USA market dominant due to their cheap energy and onshoring manufacturing, China will st the bed, the Pacific region and India should be high growth then Africa will finally boom.

Funny guys.
You do know that the UK could have traded with these emerging powerhouses, without burning trade with the uk, right?
And if you couldn't "out-trade" EU members while in the EU, what has happened with brexit that makes you think the UK can "out-trade" them now?
M.
EU trade is up ‘M’. For UK EU exports post Brexit. You do know that the UK could have traded with these emerging powerhouses, without burning trade with the uk, right?

M why is the single market not moving financial services to the single market (let alone the eurozone)..
How can the UK financial markets be better positioned post Brexit?
Mortarboard said:
These financial services, that aren't covered by brexit, nor affected by brexit?
That's what you think you needed brexit for?
Not sure you've thought that one through, tbh.

Err..
EU have made deal with UK/UK have made deal with EU..
UK exports to EU up
UK exports to ROW up
UK imports from EU up
UK imports from ROW up

Seems like a huge issue for the UK.. luckily for the EU the powerhouses of Romania/Ireland/etc will deliver the budget deficits.
