So....how long until some joker probably acting on a bet with his/her mates rushes out from the crowd and knocks the torch out of the torchbearers hand, gets their 15 mins of fame/notoriety,sells their life story to The Sun or Daily Star, then their ex sells their own story to the aforementioned papers entitled 'Torch prankster love rat had affair with my best mate'etc. etc.
Then gets invited to appear on the next series of 'Im a celebrity get me out of here'
I can see it coming soon

Well we're already 27 days into your anticipated imminent inevitability. Not to say it mightn't happen, of course.
I would say the nearer the torch gets to London and the opening ceremony, with more spectators and tv coverage the more likely some incident will happen.Theres no shortage of clowns who will do anything for money or to get their 15 minutes of fame

Absolutely.I had to laugh at the hysterical scenes on Look North this morning. Reporter jollying up the school kids - "We've got our packed lunches!" (School kids wave their packed lunches) "We've got our flags!" (School kids wave their flags) then camera pans to fat lad scoffing his packed lunch, at about 7.30am....
They also interveiwed a lad from Sheffield who was due to carry the torch. "Was he worried about anything?" "Having to go to the toilet..."
Brings it all down to earth

Not a fan of the olympics but yes that is a fantastic scene My partner and daughters were there to watch it and all said they were moved.
Not often there is something good in the news about Doncaster.
ps some of you may have read a thread on here about post not being delivered because of moss and an injured post man. That's the road. Ben seemed to manage ok.

Went to the Torch Relay in Norwich last night, awesome. The best atmosphere I've ever enjoyed anywhere in a very long time. Weather was fantastic, hot, humid and sunny (no idea where that came from), city was absolutely packed with flag waving cheering, smiley people (the proper flag, not the stuff handed out by the 'partners'). Even manged to find somewhere to stand on the final leg of the night just before it turned into the park for the celebration. It's a narrow road so only room for the crowd and the torch bearer and her (in this case) security escort, no room for the media and sponsor buses which just made it better. Fantastic night, go if you get the chance.
As you may, or may not, know I'm not based in the UK so I can't judge the mood really.
I was thinking last night that actually hosting the Olympics is a pretty big deal - it is arguably the worlds largest event. Now that its drawing closer, has the country, regardless of your personal view, begun to embrace it?
It seems to me that the torch relays are quite a success.
