I’m sure he’ll find some way to continue leaching off the taxpayer.

I believe he was first elected in 1987, so 32 years as an MP will give him 80% of his MPs salary as a pension, so £64k p.a plus any enhancement he received as Chair of a Parliamentary Committee..... rolleyes

I expect his richly deserved reputation will dissuade other Honourable (?) gentlemen (?) from taking his honourable (?) seat in the House for quite some time.
T'will take copious quantities of bleach properly to cleanse that green leather from residual contamination. They should put a health warning on it with the striped tape they use around foot and mouth outbreaks.

Apparently his constituency office was stripped out and all material relating to him was removed overnight. It’s like he was never even there.

My guess is something pretty big might be coming down the line towards Mr Vaz and the Labour Party is clearing the decks sharpish. It also wouldn’t surprise me to find that his severe mental health issues that were diagnosed the moment the pooh hit the rotating device were best cured by in a country which by a remarkable coincidence doesn’t have an extradition treaty with the UK.

What a refreshing change that will make.

Local party members seem to be upset that the candidate is black and not Indian lol.

“Mr Meghani, who is a former Labour councillor, also described the decision to choose Ms Webbe as "a slap in the face for the Indian community in Leicester and across Britain".

"It sends entirely the wrong message and is an insult to the people I come from," he said. "It shows just how little the Labour party values and respects the Indian community, particularly Hindus and Sikhs.

"Any other decent candidate would have been acceptable - it didn't necessarily have to be me.

"But by selecting such an inappropriate candidate for Leicester East, Labour has chosen to rub salt into the wound it has created amongst British Indians.

"Labour is taking the Indian vote for granted and I condemn this crooked outcome."”

What's the odds on the same reaction or worse if the new candidate was white?

I thought Labour were supposed to be an anti-racist party, but apparently they don't like Jews and any candidates have to match the ethnic mix of the area.

As Indians '......make a terrific contribution towards business.......' [which they do], perhaps they should start voting for the Conservatives.

Would it be too hopelessly confident of some one on Hate Watch mounting a legal challenge to the estimable one that said that? Don't hold any breath. It might just be that Labour now stand to lose the constituency.
