It isn't. It never has been. Not for any Politician. And that includes Conservatives who regularly get pounded on these threads - sometimes by some of the people who think AR is being hard done by on this one.
Good luck calling for an end to it all though. The last time I tried it the pile on was not insignificant! Something something snowflake something something.
It's well and good some gentle piss taking - like the Lammy Youtube clip, or the Mordaunt/AR Youtube clip amongst others, but the level of really quite offensive abuse you sometimes see on here is quite extraordinary.
+1
-1 Less than a week since you told me to fk off in these very pages, Eddie. I see you called someone else a prick in another thread. You have got some nerve on you mate.

Anyway, this thread today:

It’s a derogatory term aimed at women. It probably does fall within misogynistic category

Some people do seem to have a problem with women.

Rayner clearly has something to hide.

She’s an appalling individual who should never be let near any power over the public.

Hopefully the gobby little scrubber will be removed but will probably be given a free pass.

I’m not voting Conservative as they have been abysmal.
Show me on the doll where Angela refused to touch you.

Are you suggesting someone cannot dislike one woman without disliking all women?

No I'm suggesting that when you (not you personally) can't insult a woman without using words like "scrubber" and "mare" it does suggest some issues with women.

I think anyone who can even think of using such words to describe someone needs re-education. I said exactly the same of Rayner re her unacceptable use of language. She did however apologise unlike posters here.

Think wife, partner, GF, mother, daughter. not the sort of words we would like used to describe them is it?

She did apologise, but it was a year after the first time she did it, and only after SKS piled on the pressure after the second time she did it.
Fair play to her for the (eventual) apology itself, which was pretty unequivocal.
I don't think misogyny is a factor here, although I understand why some posters might be desperate to make such an allegation since it is an obvious attempt at distraction from AR's hypocrisy on the police investigation question.
Those same posters who were howling for Boris' head when he was being investigated by the police... The same AR that said that being investigated by the police (not charged, just investigated) should cost someone their job...
Nope, no inconsistencies there: hehe

Anyway, as I said earlier in the thread, she's innocent until she's proven guilty. I applied that to Boris too, btw and I well remember the binary response from some of the people on this thread hehe

If it's language you wouldn't direct at a male, then yes, it clearly does.

But PH don't care, which explains why misogyny is rife in this place.

That logic is deeply flawed. Insults can be gender specific, but that does not mean that the use of them implies misogyny or misandry, it's just an insult.

Do you consider really those words acceptable?
I use most words, sometimes I even put them in order. Yes.

Scrubbers!

What would dear old uncle Monty say?

For balance men can be scrubbers too it’s not solely aimed at women.
