I don't think it is unreasonable to think that the IDF are dropping leaflets as a publicity stunt to appease their western supporters and actually if they could they'd happily bomb anyone and everyone they could. Didn't Israel ban reporters last time?
Could be.

Possibly THE stupidest thing posted on PH this year...

in the meantime...

"Ayelet Shaked of the ultra-nationalist Jewish Home party called for the slaughter of Palestinian mothers who give birth to "little snakes."

"They have to die and their houses should be demolished so that they cannot bear any more terrorists," Shaked said, adding, "They are all our enemies and their blood should be on our hands. This also applies to the mothers of the dead terrorists.”

The remarks are considered as a call for genocide as she declared that all Palestinians are Israel's enemies and must be killed. "

Jimbo, with "friends" like that you don't need enemies..
Does that guy speak for all of Israel or it's leaders? Does Hamas speak for all or most Palestinians?
It's a Women, try reading the link?
OK, does she speak for all of them; try reading the question. I bet Hamas doesn't have a woman speaking for them, huh? hehe

I think its unreasonable to think that. As 63 pages of this thread shows, its not good publicity for the IDF when it does kill civilians and it does care about publicity. As for reporters, I reckon this has to be one of the most comprehensively covered conflicts. Plenty in Gaza and many covering IDF activity on borders and in Israel.
But they did ban reporters last time didn't they?

How many of the 500 and counting so far have been civilians? I'll make it easier, how many have been children?
Again, if the IDF stops today and Hamas keeps on with the rocketry, what is your course of action for Israel?

As is the way, the soul can be seen through the eyes...
I can't see anything in them, Israel would do themselves some good by locking the evil cow up for inciting hatred
Yea, and "Palestine" would do well locking up those inciting.....oh, sorry, for a moment I forgot who we were speaking of. rolleyes

Any thread about Israel always ends up the same way. The same Israeli apologists spouting the usual clap trap. I wonder how many of them are Jewish? I suspect all of them.
You wouls suspect incorrectly. Are all those supporting the PA Muslims? Stupid comment. Do you hold the PA or Hamas blameless?

Perhaps if Israel didnt arrest hamas members en masse, carry out extra judicial assasinations of Hamas leaders and stop building settlements it would have a stronger claim to being the victim?

I know it's easy to portray Hamas as uncontrollable rocket launchers but like with everything else in life, newton's Third law applies.

She's quite a senior member of "Jewish Home" which is part of the Govt.
"Part of" as in not all of it. Much the same way BNP is part of your government but not all of it?

Nope - completely incorrect. She is not only an MK, she is a fully fledged member of the Israeli Cabinet. BNP don't even have an MP, let alone being anywhere near the Govt.

The 64m shekel question - how can Israel be a "Jewish State" AND a democratic State? The only way I can think of is by removing the entire non-Jewish population.
Many non-Jews live and will continue to live in Israel. Now, non-Muslims in "Palestine", while existing, have a different row to hoe.

A peace deal - right now Israel doesn't want one because it means compromise, and they conceive that they have sufficient military superiority for the cost of conflict to be less than the cost of peace.

We all know what the peace has to look like to be lasting:
• A viable Palestinian state based on Gaza and the West Bank;
• The permanent border between the two states freely negotiated between them – undoubtedly ending up as some close +/- to the 1967 border;
• Palestinian (and other relevant Arab state) recognition of Israel;
• Security guarantees for all states in the region;
• Surrender by the Palestinians of the right of return of refugees to lands falling within the agreed Israeli borders (compensation for which paid for by the international community);
• Partition and/or some form of international status for Jerusalem.
Some bitter pills there for both sides to swallow, but Israel has no incentive so to do. Serious moves to this type of solution and the rockets will stop.

In the same vein many black africans lived in South Africa during Apartheid. It doesn't mean that living conditions were ideal.

It can only exists as a democratic racist state.
Irony abounds, shaded by ignorance.

Yes, insofar as she's a member of the Israeli Govt advocating tactics last suggested 75 years ago and the BNP leader has just been dumped.

It was a genuine question - perhaps you can square the circle?

How can Israel claim to be both a Jewish state AND a democratic State?

How long before British Muslims head to Gaza to support their brothers & sisters?
st stirrer! biggrin
Two of the Israeli soldiers sadly killed were US Nationals. Is it a different rule to support the Gazans?
Not sure; what rule does British law apply to this? Additionally, those Brothers and sisters might want to go and toss Hamas out of town so the attacks on their brothers and sisters will stop.
Or perhaps the US nationals could ask netanyahu to consider stop building Settlements?

Just a thought.....
Sure they could. And if he did, it would not change a damn thing. The surrounding nations, and their terror arms Hamas, Hezbollah, etc. have it as their mission statement to destroy Israel. Some of you actually seem to believe that Israel leaving that worthless strip of land would stop all of this. Do any of you really believe that? Step forward and be seen.

What of those they have not hit? Israel is capable of killing far more than have died so far. What about the leaflets and warnings that have been dropped at most other locations? Wake up; I understand you lack combat experience and perhaps the larger grasp of military reality but this should still be clear.
It's a fig leaf to allow organisations such as AIPAC to continue their lobbying. The real views of the Israeli Govt are probably closer to Ayelet Shaked and Moshe Feiglin.
"Probaby"? Well, there must be no question then.
