Ed Balls gone, and just as welcome Ed Davey gone, with Ed Miluband about to be buried under his own stone.

The political climate has changed.

Sadly I doubt blue-green has changed.

Yes a slim chance but it's there...he's still listening to Lord Lawson.

Like Christmas and birthday rolled into one. My cheeks ache due to my inability to stop grinning since his result was announced. Good riddance you ruinous 'schlugg'.

So the 100% consensus by all of the 'experts' that no-one would form a majority government. Hmmm, now that sort of use of statistics rings a bell.

From what I've been told, the telephone pollsters are outnumbered by online panels. The telephone people were getting a more consistent three or four point Conservative lead and sometimes bigger but adjusted their raw data before release in line with the 'consensus' provided by online polls which were more in favour of Labour. It turns out that the unadjusted telephone poll raw data was close to being accurate. Which all seems eerily familiar in the context of this thread and the politics of climate change belief when people are presented with raw data well out of alignment with the prevailing faith and so-called consensus.

At around 8pm on Thursday evening my Son-in-Law mentioned that he had just seen a report (via his phone) that the Bookmakers were suggesting that Minigland would be the next PM and had set their odds accordingly.

He may have misread the article of course. Or the bookmakers were playing some interesting games with the punters.

Was there a sudden surge of support for "anyone except Minigland" in the last 2 hours of voting?

The Guardian, bless them, have just discovered STOR. How long has Brooker been going on about this? Although to be fair back then diesel fumes were still on a par with unicorn farts.

The earliest article I can find is 2 years ago, so the Grauniad is quite late to this party.
It's just possible that Monbiot didn't notice becuase he's been too busy flying round the world promoting another book about not flying wink
Co2 emissions attributed to global computer use exceed those from global aviation, but strangely Monbidiot does not whinge about these, He even uses computers himself, strange that??

P,s the classic for me, was an article in the Grauniads environmental section, bleating on about the evils of global aviation, whilst right next to it in their `travel' section, was an article exhorting Grauniad readers to fly to Hong Kong to `try the meatballs' in a floating restaurant in Hong Kong harbour, or fly to Mexico to `experience the street markets, and street carnivals.
When I pointed this out to them, they banned me! smile Absolutely made my day!

I think I got banned from there once; it was when George had his epiphany and realised the only way to 'save' the world was nuclear power. I may have offended someone by using logic and reason.

that was my hallelujah moment of the election . this will actually contribute significantly to the reduction of Co2 production in two ways. davey himself will be producing far less hot air , and tv manufacture to replace those thrown from windows every time he appears on air will be reduced, everyone,s a winner !
