Michael Schumacher hurt skiing

Echoes of Natasha Richardson's Accident here. She hit her head and was lucid enough to refuse treatment. She fell into a coma a few hours later and died two days after the accident. The lessons learnt have been applied here. Schumacher was wearing a Helmet and the Medical Team obviously kept him under observation so when the injury became apparent they could move quickly. Lets hope that saves him. Sad for his Son. He was the one with him when they were skiing "off piste". Last thing your kids need is seeing you that ill.
I went through something similar with my Mother 2 years ago, truly horrible. My thoughts are with his family and of course hoping he makes a full recovery, but from the sketchy details it doesn't sound good.
I just saw this on Sky News, not good at all and I hope he pulls through

Well I'm glad I came to this thread too late to see those posts, I can't even imagine what they were in a time like this.Chlamydia said:

I agree about deleting the posts but in circumstances like this they should be named and shamed and then perma banned.Kinky said:

I've been following the MS threads today and haven't yet posted, primarily because I wasn't his biggest fan and didn't want to sound insincere. But I'm going to bed now and really hope I don't wake to this story having taken a turn for the worse.
Get well, Michael. Your family needs you.

BBC news just reported that Schumacher was in a coma when he arrived at the hospital, which (if true) would be a lot worse than being put into an induced coma.
5Live just said induced coma - sincerely hope that's the case. Fingers crossed for the guy.LaurasOtherHalf said:

I'm assuming Michael was anesthetised & intubated for the transfer to Grenoble. Heli is too small to do much, so this usually done preflight.

Hoping for positive news in the morning.
Dr Gary hartstein on Twitter has been extremely informative.
I'd like to think if anyone has the ability to come back from this type of trauma it's Michael. He's a fighter and I hope he wins his 92nd victory.
