So if you are so anti labour and so pro conservative but you maintain they are both completely bang in the middle to win votes they might i ask.

What the fk is the difference between the two if they are both sat in exactly the same political area.

Why is labour the end of the world if the tories are doing exactly the same.
Calm down, dear!

Where did I say they were both exactly in the middle? They are very different; hence Labour's hysterical reaction to mild spending cuts.

Labour overpsent massively. The Conservative government is having to cut spending to cut our deficit. They cannot go as quickly as they should because the country is addicted to government spending and wil throw them out if they do. Then we will get Labour back (not UKIP, not even in some people here's wildest dreams) who will just start teh spending again.

Succinct, and accurate.

It cetainly looked like a one party parliament during Chris Huhne's Carbon Budgets announcement last week. The biggest spending decision that parliament has ever taken went through with only one mild voice of dissent.

This is not how a democracy should work.

Yep.

so who do I vote for? I think the carbon bill is going to be a dissater for this country yet all three main parties want it.
No other country in the world is setting and sticking to such targets. They say they can't regulate the banks because they will move.. why is this different?

In answer to Zod's argument then, I think the Tories should have been slightly more to the right, they are currently more left than right. I understand they're trying to appease the Libdem's and it's difficult, but they've failed to make the big decisions count.

Labour would have brought in spending cuts too, not as much granted, but they would. The reason they're against the cuts now, is becaue they're the opposition, they will be against anything the Tories do.

Except when it comes to Climate change it seem's, as has been said, it's a disgrace that the climate change act went through with such little opposition. People seem to be completely un-willing to stick their necks out on this subject, because it seem's the media and other MP's will villify them.

Back to the original points though, the middle ground that Zod is talking about has a safe spread, the Tories lost, because they weren't to the right of that spread. All 3 main parties are to the left of centre right now, because they listen to the Media, not the people, the media with a few exceptions, are very left leaning.

At the last election I voted for the party whose manifesto most closely reflected my views.

There was very little chance that they (UKIP) would win. However, I took the opportunity to send a very small message to the Conservatives.

Which is exactly what we should always do. One of the problems is the media's complete lack of coverage of any party other than the main 3, with the exception of the green party, because it's fashionable to be green (apparently).

I think if the media gave equal coverage to all parties, the the smaller parties would gain ground, leading to more experience and then more votes.

You may be right (unlike those who want the Tories to adopt UKIP's policies), but it is difficult to tell and it is very much a seat-by-seat fight. You wil not beat the LibDems in a Tory/LibDem marginal (assuming such seats still exist) by being more right wing. You might beat Labour in a Tory/Labour marginal.

Here thoug, I think you may be wrong. Look at the effect on the BNP of Griffin's QT appearance. I don't think Farage goes down well with much of the public beyond his loyal supporters and don't forget Lord Pearson's disastrous TV performances. I'm not sure about Caroline Lucas. When she speaks she makes me want to go out and lay waste to the world, but I fear that a lot of idiots like her nonsense.

Here’s the thing though, is that really true - or is it a case of like-minded media ‘luvvies’ and pressure groups, who’s fingers may or may not be in the green money pot are making it look as though that most agree with them, when the fact may be that the opposite may be the case?
After all, we were being drip fed the idea that there is a ‘progressive majority’ just itching to have AV – what happened? It is all an illusion, and because of the internet, more and more people aren’t fooled as easily anymore.

So you think Nick Griffin and Lord Pearson looked bad because they were manipulated to look bad? They'll be on youtube. Look them up. They are a pair of utter morons.

I think Chris Watton's comment was focussing on Caroline Lucas. The media do love anything green at the moment (as do our politicians for some reason).

Surely equal coverage for parties would be a good thing though?

As for AV, it was an over complicated bag of ste that would have gaurenteed a hung parliament at every election (which is why the LibDems wanted it). It was what the Tories didn't want (which is why the hard of thinking labourites wanted it). If it had been for one vote and proportional representation, I may have even gone for it, if we'd had PR, the Tories would have been back in at least 2 elections ago (IIRC).

Wow, we've gone way OT here, sorry OP.

Indeed, which is the only reason she has a seat, I doubt she's from Brighton, but it really is the only place in the country that could elect a greeny at the moment.

Plus, it's not just the BBC though is it, they're all on the green bandwagon.

Yes, I was focusing on the crippling ideologies of the new green religion – didn’t give the other two mentioned beforehand another thought.
Also, if everyone’s ‘thinking green’, like the media and Huhne state on a daily basis, then why are we the only ones in our street who pay the extra £40 per year – on top of our council tax to have our ‘green bin’ emptied? In fact, if 'saving the planet' is so essential, why must we pay an extra £40 for the privalige anyway!

The only logical conclusion is that those who make policies are being persuaded by pressure groups and people who stand to make a financial killing from the scam (including the people making the policies law?) – leaving the rest of us without power, or money to buy the limited power sometime in the near future. Crazy!

It would appear that Vicky Price has signed a confession admitting that she took the points on Huhne's behalf.

Daily Telegraph said:
Chris Huhne's former wife signed a sworn legal confession, admitting that she had taken speeding points on behalf of the Energy Secretary, The Daily Telegraph has learnt.

However, the fact that he is a low down, no good, lying, jumped up little toerag is the reason that he has no friends.

Unlike Mandleson, if Huhne goes, his political career will be finished.

There are rumours that even his own children are willing to give evidence against him.

I disagree - his defence can only be that his wife was actually driving and thus took the points correctly. If they can cast serious doubt on the possibility of his wife being able to be at the speed camera at that particular time (she was at a party in London I believe) then it adds weight to her version and might be enough to convict. Certainly should be enough to send to trial.
