What do you feel will happen too the supporting mp's from both sides if it goes against them? Would there positions become untenable if they backed the wrong horse?

? If it is 49/51 or so, how is that backing the wrong horse? Half the country don't count either way?

Betfair was odds of 16-to-1 on a Leave result about 30 mins ago

It's now down to 2.5-to-1
yupp, 1.8 to 1 now, 80 million GBP matched on that market alone...betfair is sure cheering for more referendums biggrin
Lots of people are cashing out as there's an overreaction to the first results.

Hmmm - the Brexiters will have a lot of explaining to do if the currency collapses.

Leave smashed Sunderland, how does that compare with predictions?
I've seen on more than one occasion that if the expected Leave in Sunderland was 6 points ahead of remain then it would be very tight.

"Smashed it" is about right then!

Low income, poor educational standards, high unemployment. That was a cast iron certainty for leave.

It wasn't expected by anything like that margin.

The funny thing about this is that the North, as per forecast, might be critical but the key thing will be the importance of brute numbers. If Scotland has fallen asleep then that is huge for Leave..
It will be the north west and south east that swing it then.
Not sure: I'd call south east remain. The midlands maybe where the action is as well. I'm going out on a limb and suggesting that the exit poll is wrong. I still think the numbers in the south east and London mean remain is still likely but if the pollsters haven't properly weighted the northern and midland seats then the numbers are going to be a lot closer towards the end of the night..

I've read several times that anything below 60/40 for Leave would be have been seen as bad. The guy on BBC explained this a few mins ago when analysing the Newcastle and Sunderland results.

Was playing cards tonight with a group of 19 guys from a wide spectrum of "walks of life" & ages.... 15 voted leave, 3 didn't vote, 1 for remain

This is in Scotland btw.... Think there might be a shock from Scotland tonight. Could be a higher leave vote than expected.
