Its funny because recently he said that the UK wasn't in violation of any resolutions or doing anything wrong. He also reminded Argentina one of the main principles of the UN, self-determination. He has said this previously a few years back on the same issue. Essentially this kills the Argentine argument stone dead.

Another interesting thing is she keeps quoting resolutions which are not only expired but Argentina violated with its illegal invasion of the Falkland Islands.

She's not very bright, poor girl.
...and they were offered the chance to take it to the UN years ago and they declined as they knew they didn't have a leg to stand on.

Perhaps we could kill two birds with one stone by ceding Northern Ireland to the Argentinians? It is better developed, proportionally closer to London than the Falklands are to Buenos Aires and has undeveloped marshland and mountains just like "Malvinas". The population are split between wanting to be Irish, British and uncertain with just enough occasional violence to make the Argies feel at home.

While this argument has no traction outside South America and precious little outside Argentina, there's enough mouthbreathers in Argentina that will believe her hogwash and keep voting for her.
I reckon most argentinians will see straight through this as a political stunt to divert attention from the disastrous economic situation and and unemployment and 20-30% inflation .

I agree - especially after the last attempt failed with the deaths of 600+ Argentinians.

Edit: Then again people in the UK keep voting Labour who, without fail, do exactly the same thing and reduce the country to it's knees every time.

remember that the damage the Argie govt did in 2001 made labour look highly competent in comparison.

many many middle class families and small businesses were bankrupted when the govt blocked bank withdrawals and free flioated the peso. Ministers having already moved their money elsewhere.

An ex GF of mine basically lost everything - moved to Spain to find work. the situation was horrific and people just do not trust the Govt.

This is true. And then the Tories have to spend the next two parliaments getting the economy back on it's feet, by which time everybody is bored and thinks it's time for a change. So Labour inherit all the Tories hard work, claim all the glory, go on a massive spending spree and completely wreck the joint. And then the Tories get back in, and so on.

Interestingly, if Kirchner's letter is correct and the UK didn't vote against the 1965 General Assembly resolution which recognised the FI as a colonial case, which should have lead to negotiations on the sovereignty of such places - then the Labour Party were in power at the time.

This smells very similar to what somebody posted earlier regarding what Tony Blair was have alledged to have said during the 1982 Beaconsfield by-election.

Not forgetting that we have many many battalions of soldiers that have been at war, have been under effective enemy fire and have developed beyond just being trained but to being experienced. ie We have veteran & elite battalions.

I really dont think we have anything to worry about.

PS...don't get complacent.

Argentina has intercontinental ballistic bulls. Many of them. Be afraid...

And the cows to support them...

They also have rioting and civil unrest. Im not sure the civilian population would back the invasion.
