To be fair, racism to me is thinking your own race is better than others. Although in general racism just seems to have become a general dislike for people of different skin colours, cultures or religion.
IMO people like the Black Police Association are not necessarily racist, (without looking) I imagine the reason they exist is to try and right some of the wrongs Black Police officers have faced and to push for equality. I don't think they are in any way saying Black police oficers are better than whtie ones.
The question as to whether we need a BPA in the current time we are in is a seperate question. Have Blakc polcie officer snow reached a level playing field with whites and is the BPA redundant? Not being a Police officer or a Black Police Officer I am probably not best placed to comment.

Presumably though if you put some hatred up on twitter its worse than doing it to a single person face to face - but at the same time it isn't because 'its the internet and it doesnt really count'.

Nothing rascist in those statements. In general, some races are better at different activities than others. Eg. Why do you not see any black swimmers winning at the Olympics? You're confusing correlation with causation and race with nationality/culture.

I am talking more on a fundamental human level - as in are people of white skin/race any better or worthy of life than asian people? Of course some races may be better at some things and indeed some cultures are better than other cultures as they are more advanced.
I think pure racism at its very basic level is fairly simple. I think the word racism has so many meanings thesedays that maybe things are muddied. Calling someone a

But thinking you are superior to them because of your skin colour alone ,probably is. The thing is I dont think everyone who dislikes people of a different skin colour/culture is necessarily racist, per se. They just have somesort of annoyance with peopel that are different to them.Cambridge dictionary defines racist as:

which I think tallys with my own definition, but I suppose it depends on each individual comes to the conclusion that their race is better than all others.
I accept that some black asian and white people are better than me and some are worse than me. A pure racist would, IMO, always think their race is better than others regardless of applying any decent criteria.
Racism is about treating people differently because of their race/ethnicity. Assuming the inebriated mong is equally offensive to all other races then it's surely hard to argue he's racist. Being stupid is something totally different and if we locked up all stupid people there'd be a very large proportion of people banged up.
As for incitement...I'm struggling to see how you prove that unless a riot (etc) actually occurs and the majority of those rioting actually cite the words of the individual as being the cause.
It's obvious this dickwad is being used as an example. But to be perfectly honest I think the legal system in this country would be better served if morons like Abu Hamza were made examples of first. On this case, a criminal record alone and perhaps some community service would seem to punish the miscreant enough in terms of future prospects without costing the taxpayer more money. All the courts have done is give the far right ammo.
We also appear to becoming a nation of very easily offended people. I suspect that will prove worse for us in the long run than some ahole on twitter after a few beers.

But if I were to state that blacks are habitual thieves, the direction soon changes. Maybe the above isn't true, it was just for an example, but if historical fact and documentation, such as prison/court records, proved it true....
....would it now be racism to say it, fact or otherwise? I think it would.
