Wills in a helicopter?
Some chap on Twitter yesterday was saying that he'd heard rumours Wills was flying the S&R 'copter that was sent in!
It was from Anglesey, so quite possible.

Delay in starting the press conference due to up-to-the-minute news arriving, apparently. Fingers still crossed.

This country!!

Apparently, questioning of the suspect stopped while he was allowed his 'statutory' 8 hrs rest.
I give up!

Could be a number of reasons. One of them is the public are not generally trained in this and may get in the way and may need rescuing.
Something in their attitude towards the public searching has changed though - they were all for it yesterday.
As part of a Search and Rescue team i'm surprised the police let this happen for so long. We only go out when the police are sure we have full radio comms, full equipment, good leadership from a control unit and ground command, and of course the mandatory training.

Sending untrained and unequipped public out on searches is dangerous, and takes around 5 times the amount of people due to lack of search techniques.
Probably hard to turn people away on the day when feelings are running high the the people turning out are saying they are going for it. It is a bit different between a summer meadow and somewhere in mid Wales in bad weather.

Time will tell.
Forensic evidence will also need to be preserved, the last thing you want (if you know or suspect she is dead), it a lot of people trampling over car tracks and anything else that could be relevant. As well as contaminating the scene.

The times today reported that a local stated that tyre tracks had been found right up to the rivers edge where nobody normally goes.

So basically, they haven't the foggiest!

So - he's picked the girl up, done something with her which is as yet unknown. and the next day drops his car off to a local garage and walks home, all in middle of a massive search for him and the girl?

Very, very odd. Almost to the point of not adding up.

And as I said, they allowed him his 'statutory' 8 hrs rest. All the while, if, and a big if, that poor little girl is still out there alive.

We really have lost the plot to the do-gooders.

The guy they have arrested is a "local mechanic" so it was probably at his own garage

So does he

A, work at said recovery garage and has taped the front up due to collision damage

Or

B, police have recovered the vehicle from said garage and taped the front up to conceal something from that photo.

Either way, given the weather over there at the minute, no way has that vehicle been driven outside (which it has, looking at rest of it) with masking paper all over the front, it'll have fallen off in minutes in heavy rain.

Which bit in particular made your heart sink? (the keeping chickens indoors is pretty odd!)

Sky Copter grounded by a no-fly zone.

Military got fed up with them? Would suggest the Police don't think the Sky copter will spot anything...?

The front rads will be covered to enable the car to heat up to temp quicker. Might have a knackered thermostat. Although Landies have pretty good cooling systems to cope with desert weather extremes I believe so it might just be to warm it up quicker.

Have the media managed to dig up evidence that he's a wrongun then? Excellent, that won't prejudice any potential court case at all.

Mark Bridger was wearing a camouflage green jacket, black waterproof trousers, and camouflage trousers beneath those.

Reports said April got in driver's side. Discovery is LHD.
And what is that on pass seat? Camouflages or child seat?

Odd that the front is taped up - I'd assumed it was to hide the reg number, which they subsequently released anyway. It certainly hasn't been outside taped like that.

Maybe he was going to do some spraying on it, and it has chrome bullbars?

The wheels don't look like they have been in a very muddy field recently though.

The police probably covered the plates up when they first recovered it before they decided to release the pictures of it
