Farage in Brussels - a national embarrassment

To be fair the message was misleading to people that just take things at face value.....to me it was clear the message was designed to show we could choose to spend very large sums of extra money on things of our choosing rather then it being sent to the EU or part returned with strings attached.
My issue with all this is that all sides were guilty of scaremongering and this referendum and political processes have been much the poorer for it.
I'm not sure the remain group lied about our contribution to the EU, surely a fundamental part of the debate. My issue with all this is that all sides were guilty of scaremongering and this referendum and political processes have been much the poorer for it.
I'm not sure the remain group lied about an exit vote somehow changing how we help Syrian refugees. I'm not sure the remain group lied about an exit vote ensuring the Calais migrants would not be allowed into the UK.
The £350m was repeated time and again. There was an exit group in my local town dishing out flyers. I was going to challenge the lie but a woman in front beat me to it. The remain person said that the figure was 'official' and that it took 'everything' into account.
I also took a flyer from the remain group. I can't remember any lie about what benefits staying in would bring over and above more of the same.
Johnson stood in front of that sign knowing full well is was a lie. Further, he knew that whatever happened, there would be costs of exit - as we now can prove all too well - the effect of which is that any savings disappear, whatever the sum was. On top of that Johnson is proposing the Norwegian Option, the cost of which is likely to be the same as we are paying now if the EU has any sense.
The basis of the cost of the EU was a lie all the way through and those distributing it knew unless they were idiots.
There are no savings. There is no 'large sums of extra money' available from leaving. There was never going to be any. It was a lie.
I think, perhaps, you are the one taking things at face value and not working out the probabilities. The current problems were forecast if you read up on the referendum.

Politics aside.
If you win, you don't try and rub the faces of the losers in the dirt.
Farage may have a British passport, but he certainly doesn't act like a fair minded Brit. Shame on his piss poor behaviour.
Did you watch before he spoke? perhaps you should and come back again..........he's a better man than me under such conditions that's for sure.If you win, you don't try and rub the faces of the losers in the dirt.

The 350 million a week on the bus was a gross figure and it is accurate(ish).
The 10 billion a year is a net figure and it is accurate(ish).
The 350 million will not go to the NHS.
The 10 billion will now prop up the economy.
HTH.
Ye gods. Are you for real. The 10 billion a year is a net figure and it is accurate(ish).

There is no extra money. Look around you to see what's happened. We are poorer since the vote and likely to remain so for some time beyond exit.
£350 was meant to mislead and probably did.

Larger figures for the gross contribution which do not take account of the UK’s rebate are not sensible. As already discussed, the UK is able to veto any attempts to abolish the rebate.

I think Farage has always had the 'stretch goal' of destroying the EU; he doesn't just think it's bad for Britain. And a bit offtopic - Although he hasn't been the only campaigner, I can think of no-one in recent years who has spent so long being ridiculed, smeared and vilified for a cause but who has striven through it all to help change the course of a nation. It has been a Herculean effort, and whether you agree with him or not, I think some recognition is in order.
"Arise Sir Nigel" has a ring to it, n'est-ce pas?
All driven people with large flaws and larger egos, but commensurately large achievements.

I realise there are lots to choose from but this is the "Farage in Brussels - a national embarrassment"
what has this got to do with the bus or Boris's posters?
It only takes a page to agree that Farage is a national embarrassment, so we need something else to fill the bandwidth. what has this got to do with the bus or Boris's posters?

He's no racist but he's as slimey as Alex Salmond, how many times has he resigned or changed his mind now? The core problem is whatever his noble intensions the way he had to get here was to try and pull alot of racists slightly left enough to vote. I agree with the result but the sad fact is we arrived here by courting a lot of racists. It's a question of a lot of people agreeing with his views for the wrong reasons basically.
What an ignorant comment - how many of the 17m voters that supported Brexit do you think are racists?Tell me more

Stop being hysterical. The markets took a punt on remain last week, resulting in extra movements now. Give it a week or two then see what the situation is. Then give it a few months and look again. There is no extra money. Look around you to see what's happened. We are poorer since the vote and likely to remain so for some time beyond exit.

Churchill and Thatcher - no. All thoroughly deserving for their work at making the UK a better place (Thatcher is contentious but she did lead the UK through some difficult times).
The others I don't know enough about to say.
As it stands Farage has done what? Create a huge division in the nation, create the possibility of a self made recession and given a number of thugs a legitimate (in their eyes) reason to go bullying foreigners. As yet there is no evidence to suggest anything he has done will benefit the UK or UK electorate.

"Nigel Farage, Governor of Pitcairn" has a better ring to it, I'd say. Can't we find somewhere further away and colder...? South Georgia perhaps?
