Genuine question for someone that is in the US, and not swayed by the foreign media reporting, and also someone that is a trump supporter.

How do you feel his handling of (all of them) situations is going?
I am much more used to seeing leaders only sending out measured, and thoroughly checked messages through their media relations teams. What do you think of his use of twitter?
If you happened to see the hearings for his cabinet selections, some answers may have been evident. The SOS & SEC DEF nominees spoke both of Russia being responsible for hacking the DNC as well as Russia being bent on breaking up NATO. These statements are not in line with Trump's tweets, etc. This has been going on for weeks now. Of course Trump and these people are in contact and they are very well aware that what they are saying is not 100% in line with what he is saying. Two things may be in play here:

1) Unlike the MSM would have you believe, Trump is known to seek out the best in their field and take their advice; he does not, nor has he ever surrounded himself with "yes men".

2) He may be playing the "Bad cop, good cop" routine. His tweets are designed to rattle certain chains and cause intended angst, allowing his cabinet to be the good cop and capitalize upon the cooperation that that angst produced. It has been effective thus far as a "Pre POTUS".
Interesting, thanks.

It is hard to work out what is real and what is not from a UK perspective. A lot of agenda's out there!

Irony is the US we're meddling in the Ukrainian election. What goes around comes around.
When the US meddled in Ukrainian elections do you think they did it for the benefit of

(b) The US

When Putin meddled in the US elections do you think he did it for the benefit of

It's not a nightmare. It's like watching one of those Russian dashcam compliations. Hilarious with a touch of horrifying.

Possibly like one of the Trump Hotel videos hehe

I would submit that the irony lays clearly upon you. You have spent so long accusing others of stereotype that you have become a stereotype. You have been condescending so long you have managed to step in your own st.

The MSM discredited themselves long ago -- back when you were no doubt ranting about Niger yellow cake and babies being torn from incubators. Now it's Trump peeing on Obama's bed.
I don't think they did. Even back then there were lots of media sources who knew that the stuff being reported about WMD was b0110x. That's why 2m people marched in London against GW2. It was mainly the wingnut element of the media that portrayed the Yellowcake evidence as some sort of proof.

Tarring the entire media with the MSM tag is silly, to put it mildly, because they all have different viewpoints and agendas. However when they are ALL saying pretty much the same thing then that tells you something. Umpalatable as it may be for you.
CNN giving debate questions to the Clinton campaign to shaft Bernie as well as the NYTs running stories by the HRC staff to get their "approval" are facts. Makes one wonder how much of this bias has been going on that was not caught?

I would reverse the last 8 years, stop all foreign funding, nation building, military presence(bar South Korea), build the wall and deploy Active duty forces to the southern border. Cut off all federal funding to sanctuary cities. Stop all immigration, clear out the backlog, the rewrite the immigration laws to make it easier for qualified people to come here. At the same time deporting all illegals, whether their home country wants them back or not. We are the USA and we have the power to do this. If someone does not like this then get the hell out of the USA.
biggrin

I love this!

'merica! fk yeah!
Worth reminding everyone that 5oh is far from being a born and raised American. He's very much an immigrant himself, all the way from glorious Preston.

I'd love to see his proposed immigrant criteria/qualifications and see if he would satisfy them himself. For this reason alone they'd presumably have to be pretty low, so would in actuality be no more effective than today's regs.

The insular nature of the US and its people is its biggest problem. That's what needs fixing. The Trumputin coalition is only going to make it worse.

Ex MI5 boy on the run.

Let's hope this clever comedian hasn't cost us to many deals with the U.S.A.

He might do a Assange before the yanks get him.>smile
Everybody who knows him or has worked with him seems to rate him quite highly.
Andrew Wordsworth, another ex MI-6er with a private firm disagrees on this occasion. He states; "It would not make sense for Russian intel to leak information to a former British spy; they believe once an agent, always an agent". He further stated that; "This dossier is too good, too complete. If the CIA Director himself produced this, no credible intel unit would believe him. These documents are very unconvincing".

Edited by Jimbeaux on Friday 13th January 16:02
Andrew Wordsworth doesn't actually seem to be talking about Christopher Steele so I'm not sure how exactly he "disagrees" with my statement.

He says Russian Intel wouldn't leak information to a British spy. Well, no, not officially they wouldn't. However I'm going to hazard a guess that the main objective a former MI6 operative was to identify and recruit "spies" within Russian Intel who KNEW he worked for MI6 and were PREPARED to leak information. That's how this spying malarkey works.
He stated that two days ago in response to what Steele supposedly reported. Yes, he was talking about Steele.

Ends justifying the means, you mean, so b) to both then, maybe a) just so long as it's suits the geopolitical philosophy of the 3rd party doing the meddling.

There isn't a single piece of evidence to show that CNN leaked the questions.

Happy to try an answer. smile As to "agendas", yes, too many. The NYT actually claimed recently that they "set the narrative" for the country. That statement alone unwittingly implicated them in what the majority of citizens think of media bias. A supposed "newspaper" should not be "setting narratives" but reporting facts.
