Twitter user jailed for 56 days

There was a lot more. Highly offensive - lots a racist language. It read like he was hell bent of being absolutely as offensive as possible.

But here's the thing - people saw what he was writing and flagged it across twitter. Someone very quickly linked it to his FB profile and found out where he was studying.
The Uni had a twitter account - as did his local police force. His tweets were sent onto them and hey ho the next day he was suspended from university and arrested.

Couldn't happend to a nicer bloke.

If you are stupid enough to type what is effectively incitement to racial hatred on Twitter then you deserve everything that is coming to you.

The comments were cleary wrong and out of order, yet when I was randomly assaulted in the street and suffered a fractured eye socket along with concussion causing me to miss important exams my assaulter was sentenced to a few hours community service and ordered to pay me £350 (of which I received £35).

He is being made an example of.

The bloke is obviously being obnoxious but this is all a bit "thought police". I read all the tweets and was not offended one bit, I formed the opinion that the bloke is some kind of idiot and was a bit extreme but in my opinion prison is too much.

I am white, if someone called me a white tt I would not give a st, laws to prevent racisim do more to re-enforce the idea that whites and blacks are different.

We need to solve the problem of uneducated idiots thinking blacks are second class people, decent education will help this, legislating against those who are already idiots will not help.

Wow, he sounds a bit immature but he's certainly paid the price.
