I saw most of that - and while if NI/NDS were doing what they were accused of they need to have a large heavy book thrown at them. But the peurile suggestions by Panorama that the pirate viewing cards were enough to bring down ONITVdigital on their own or even have any substantial impact on them are laughable.
I would have thought that the degree of the harm it caused is of limited importance. If the suggestion is true that they did indeed try to harm OD by corrupt practices then that is enough to show culpability. It could not have helped.
Oh I absolutely agree that this sort of act is not to be tolerated regardless of it's effectiveness - I just don't approve of shoddy reporting just to try and make a documentary sound dramatic. The alleged actions are bad enough on their own and don't need "sexing up".
Yes, I fully agree with the bold bit.

I see what your saying however using your example how would you feel if Tescos hired a bunch of people to break into sainsburys warehouse and smash all those consoles to bits before they even went on the shelf ?
Then I would expect Sainsburys to do the same back. Except use more people and bigger sticks. Or to just go after the head of the company, break every bone in his right arm and left leg, in front of his wife and family and say "Right then, thats enough of the fun and games, lets get back to playing nicely shall we? Or next time we just torch the house with you all in it. Toodle pip smile "

Just as I would expect the police to take an active role in stopping such things. Of course the above is pretty much what happened in Germany in the early 30s with politicals parties, except the police were too wear to stop the antics. Once Hitler realised this, he though sod the ladder of escalation and just went straight for the nuclear button and wiped out his rivals in one fell swoop.

Frankly it all depends how much of a ruthless you are.

I'm not really sure, but I can say for certain I wouldn't be shocked.

I should point out I'm pretty damned cynical in general, although imo there is sufficient prior history of where big corps were caught doing the dirty for it not to be pure cynicism on my part. Imagine those that dont get caught.

I wish I'd thought to google it first tbh [I've not read them all!]:
