She's council, from Guildford. Not defending her, but isn't she a council girl herself?
There was a reference to her as 'Lady Nugee' on Guido's blog, no idea what it refers to, can't get interested enough to check it out

Dafuq? Clever "legal counsel" pun?Not defending her, but isn't she a council girl herself?
BBC article said:
The 54-year-old entered Parliament as MP for Islington South and Finsbury in 2005 and served as shadow energy and health spokeswoman before taking the role of shadow attorney general in 2011.
The daughter of a former assistant secretary general of the United Nations, she was born in Surrey and was called to the bar in 1983, specialising in criminal law.
I'd tend to agree that she sounds like just the sort of Common Purpose twerp most people detest in politics. All the three main parties are riddled with these types. The daughter of a former assistant secretary general of the United Nations, she was born in Surrey and was called to the bar in 1983, specialising in criminal law.

The Nugee bit comes from her husband. He's a QC.
She's a council girl that sent her kid(s) to a public school 14 miles away that takes in some kids for free or on bursaries from where it used be before it relocated in the early 70s.
Regarding the Pink Floyd comments, I've recently heard of Syd Arthur's Hometown Blues and then to Sound Mirror that sounds a bit Floyd and Byrds to me.

No. Just a minor shuffling around of responsibilities into and/or within the Shadow Cabinet. She remains an MP and faces her electorate in May (assuming she's re-selected).
I imagine her sentiment is widely shared in her borough of Islington - will probably win the scummy cow votes.Mr_B said:
The man in question turns up at one of her homes, and he don't look happy. Hyacinth Bucket, I mean Emily, was nowhere to be seen though.

How so, exactly? Is he not entitled to talk to her about the very public aspersions she cast about him and his home? I don;t actually see anything else being attempted here. IMHO, if you're a public figure making (very) public comments about private individuals, then it should all be out in the open.
Farage could stand against her, but I am not sure if Islington is a very UKIP tolerant place?
With regard to the soccer internationals being on, Rooney can get a hair transplant. Emily Thornberry can't get a head transplant.
Perhaps she'd be better suited to being one of those Barristers that makes Coffee?

Is it me, or does this not quite tally with the BBC version I posted above your comment? The Nugee bit comes from her husband. He's a QC.

At any rate, I'd question her suitability as an MP with that attitude and it certainly makes me wonder about her suitability and impartiality in law.

From what I can see he has bought his house. He goes out to work. He pays his taxes. Like millions of other people he is probably struggling on doing his fair of grafting and putting food on the table. That politician is an utter disgrace and portrays one of the many things wrong with the left wing political elite whom run the Labour Party sneering down on anyone who does not fit the mold.

The working class should always be represented by a person with a title who lives in a £3M home.
I wonder if she'll be paying the "mansion tax".As such, she isn't able to clain the mortgage costs as an expense.

Sorry Digga, I am not too sure what you mean? If I seem to be repeating your post it could have been that my replies to threads can take a while. From Wikipedia:
Wikipedia on Emily Thornberry said:
In April 2005 it emerged that Thornberry had sent her son to the selective Dame Alice Owen's School fourteen miles away from her home and outside her constituency. The school was formerly based in Islington and still reserves ten percent of its places for Islington pupils. (54) The Labour Party opposes selection and Thornberry was widely criticised over the issue as a result. (55) Chris Woodhead, the former chief inspector of schools stated "I celebrate her good sense as a parent and deplore her hypocrisy as a politician. When will those who espouse the virtues of comprehensive education apply the logic of their political message to their children?"
Wikipedia on Emily Thornberry said:
Thornberry has lived in Islington since the early 1990s. In July 1991 she married fellow-barrister Christopher Nugee, of Wilberforce Chambers,[52] in Tower Hamlets, and they have two sons (born December 1991 and July 1999) and a daughter (born November 1993). Nugee later became a Queen's Counsel, then a High Court judge, and was knighted. Since 1993 they have lived on Richmond Crescent, Barnsbury, where Tony Blair also lived until the 1997 general election, moving in on the same day as the Blairs.[citation needed] She also part-owns properties in Guildford and South London.[46][53]

I agree. Wikipedia says she joined the Transport & General Workers Union in 1985? If that's true I am not sure where that sits with sneering at Transit Man?
Has she left herself open to Hate crime legislation?
Where does her Tweet fit with Internet 'trolling'?

It was just that the BBC said "The daughter of a former assistant secretary general of the United Nations, she was born in Surrey". Didn't seem to quite fit with the Wikki bit, that's all.
And yes, you're right, you can bet, were the guy not white, working class, then a hate crime would be on the cards.

ETA: How the hell do you know he pays his taxes? You don't have any more of a clue about him than the dozy mare who posted the picture. your assumption is just as lazy and lacking in respect.
