Why not just cycle past and say nothing? If you cycle in London you have to avoid people crossing the road all the time. Yet another cyclist provoking someone then posting the footage on YouTube!
Just had this discussion with my girlfriend who was placing no blame on the cyclist. People in the road is part of riding in London, if you want to provoke someone, at least ensure that you can either take anything else that comes your way, or remove yourself from the area pronto OpulentBob said:
It was an over-reaction for sure. But he definitely wouldn't have done it for no reason. Like Tranformers, there's more to this than meets the eye.
I agree. Matey lost it momentarily, in momentarily , I mean he did not follow up and give her a kicking. Which he likely would have done had he totally gone mental. St John Smythe said:

Cyclist definitely shook her head at the ped on the way past. So maybe it's a case of when s collide.
It's normally a cyclist chasing down a nasty nasty car dwiver, this time it's the ped chasing down the nasty nasty cyclist. The only thing is, the ped didn't have the helmet cam.
Opulent by name, impoverished by thought capacity. It's normally a cyclist chasing down a nasty nasty car dwiver, this time it's the ped chasing down the nasty nasty cyclist. The only thing is, the ped didn't have the helmet cam.
Do you actually believe being pushed over into traffic because you shook your head at someone is justified?

So next time a driver swears at me, I can drag them out of the vehicle and throw them in to traffic? Or would that be an utterly disproportionate response? What about if they had a dash-cam - that obviously means they were looking for trouble, doesn't it?
If you're willing to take the consequences that that brings to you, go ahead. The response is completely disproportionate and I am in no way condoning his actions, I'm just slightly tired of the videos which appear, do not show the whole story (because you can't see her hands) and then play complete victim when it escalates out of control.I've considered a helmet cam myself (commute in London daily) so at no point would I say that people with them go out looking for trouble, I do sometimes think that they're slightly unaware of their own actions though.

Clearly that sort of behaviour is unjustifiable. But it does bring something to mind I have been quite surprised that more people don't consider.
One day it won't be the nutter who knocks you over. It will be the guy who stabs you in the heart six times and then, calmly, goes for a round of golf.
They are out there and is it really worth the risk? Not to my mind.

No No no no no It's normally a cyclist chasing down a nasty nasty car dwiver, this time it's the ped chasing down the nasty nasty cyclist. The only thing is, the ped didn't have the helmet cam.
Pedestrians next with helmet cams policing cyclists cars, taxis buses and trucks - so I have that in order?
no no no
Pedestrian has cam, winds up cyclist, cyclist retaliates
That didnt happen

But wheres the line between "if you didn't want to get attacked don't shake your head at someone" and "if you' don't want to get raped don't wear a low cut dress"? Whether she shook her head, gave him the finger, or shouted obscenities at him he's still completely unjustified in pushing her in to the road.greygoose said:

What a fking hero the pedestrian is. Attacking a woman because she may have made a hand signal at him.
A bully and a coward at best.
Exactly, it is sad that some are seeking to justify his actions.A bully and a coward at best.
