Isnt there cases of tigers/lions getting into each others cages and Tigers always win? Even if you managed to get it before it started eating them I'd imagine the damage would be done.

To be fair at the end he does say "Now I am not so sure" - so he does have some doubt whether he could pull it off.

Edited to add: actually being quick witted and pulling it off may be the best way of distracting it - would have to be male though.

Re animal strength, didn't they do something with chimpanzee tugging a rope to see how much force they could generate and it turned out that chimpanzee were about 5 times stronger than humans. And they're hardly HUGE.

Re tigers, anything that can take down some of the st they do in the wild is going to fk any human up sharpish.
