To be fair to the OP credit card companys and banks are alot more annoying with security just now. I work in a furniture store and we take large payments by card, over 10k on switch isn't unusual. Now and again you would get a security check, but now anything over 2k is getting checked! It's almost like they don't want you spending your own money! The funny thing is, chip and pin was meant to eliminate this sort of thing not make it worse! To keep this on topic, alot of people can't remember their passcodes when doing security checks, so you are not alone OP.
HSBC suspended my card because someone had tried to hack into it in Philadelphia airport. They told me they had a list of 'cloned' cards, and mine was one of them, but they assurred me they had stopped the transaction and the villain had got no money.

I informed that it had in fact been ME getting money out in Philly. They didn't seem bothered about that minor detail, but sent me a new card. They still haven't taken the $100 out of my account though, the $100 that I stole from my own account, despite me phoning up again to verify that it had indeed been myself who took the money.

HSBC blocked my card when I bought a tag in Detroit. Was a bummer as I was flying to Aberdeen, and could only use the cash I had on me!

I had a mad moment the other week and locked my credit card PIN, and then remembered it, and reset it using a cash machine. THEN, I screwed it up again, and locked it, then remembered it and went to unlock it at the machine.......

Get a message saying "We cannot complete this request. Please contact your card issuer".
Did this, and "call centre operative" even after I explained the message just said that she'd send me my PIN reminder. She assures me that ties in with this they do something that will allow me to reset the PIN......yeah right rolleyes

And why does it take 6 fecking DAYS to get a PIN reminder that I don't need to me??
When I said it would be better to report the card stolen, she said that I can't do that as I said I already had the card, and it would be referred to their fraud department!!!!

Grrrrrrr!!

I think you might find that they "reset" the PIN so you can change it at a cash machine prior to arrival of the reminder- Give it a go.

I need to update my passwords soon, i'm planning on having different ones for each account as so:

say its "password"

well how about having part of the url scrambled? like pistonheads for example:

"password" becomes "passwordpisthead" and of course use numbers for letters etc. can help it further:

"passwordp15th3ad"
