I have sent the following email to them.

I write to formally compliant about the gross breach or trust exhibited by Kerry McCarthy MP in respect of publishing results of postal votes which I believe to be illegal.

Please could you explain how it is that she has not been suspended for what is presumably an issue of gross misconduct.

Yours faithfully.
Wow, that carefully worded and well thought out email with no mistakes will make a world of difference I'm sure.

I got this reply :

Dear Mr Bibbs

I will shortly be interviewed by the police in connection with this and
will provide them with a copy of your complaint

This is a matter for the police to investigate and not for me

Here's mine

Dear Sir/Madam

I am writing to express my grave concerns regarding the Labour party candidate for Bristol East Miss Kerry McCarthy and recent allegations surrounding the apparently unlawful opening and subsequent disclosure of some of the postal ballot for this constituency.

Whilst I appreciate that there's a current police investigation into this matter and as such you are unable to comment in detail vis-a-vis Miss McCarthy's behaviour; given that by her own admission “On hearing the results of a random and unscientific sample of postal votes, I posted them on Twitter." this would seem to be in contravention of Section 66 of the 1983 Representation of the People Act which forbids “any statement relating to the way in which voters have voted at the election before polls close" Can you please explain as to why Miss McCarthy has not been asked to stand down as a candidate?
Yours sincerely
Joe Hale

The police have interviewed the returning officer by now - what more do you expect to happen ?

He still has the power to bar her from the election, which I would expect him to do.

It will be a travesty if he doesn't.

I imagine it will all be conveniently ignored though.....

Every time i think about it it makes me angry. How can she still be allowed to stand after what she's done, really makes me angry. You expect it in a banana republic but not in the country with the "mother of Parliaments"

Likewise just recieved my email from Mr McNamara which appears to be a stock response despite my request for clarification as to whether or not she'd been asked to stand down as a candidate.
I believe it's known as passing the buck.

It appears the ARO doesn't really want to get involved.

Dear Stephen

Many thanks as to your prompt response, as I mentioned in my email I'm
well
aware of the current police investigation into the allegations
surrounding
Miss McCarthy and as such understand and appreciate that you're unable
to
comment in detail.
However can you clarify as to whether or not she has been asked to
stand
down as a candidate?
Many thanks
Joe Hale

Dear Mr Hale,

I have discussed your question with Mr McNamara, and he tells me that
he has no knowledge of whether or not Ms McCarthy has been asked to
stand down.
