I didn't say it had. My point was, as far as things to "nearly cry about" on the news are concerned, there are many more worthy things out there.

Or maybe it was just a slow news day in Scawthorpe.

Sure, any time.

Although not tonight, I'm just about to get in the bath.

Can you make tomorrow afternoon, around three?

Ears burnt off?

That sounds a very unusual situation, I can't think how anyone would manage to do it, and what evidence there was after a few days where someone looks and says "Hmm, look like another ear burning, better call the Inspector..."

It's a bunny
It is a bunny and if killed humanely I would be happy to skin it, chop it up and stew it, but I would never just burn it's ears off.

The point with the human suffering isnt really valid IMO, no-one went and flooded Pakistan, the troops get shot at, not their ears burnt off, plus they are in a position to protect themselves.

To go and just burn off ears from a rabbit is sick, I hope someone burns their ears off.

Poor Bunny, and more to the point the poor young girl who has to live knowing her cute little pet bunny had its ears burnt off

Seriously, WTF? furious

Its fluffy and all cute and anthropomorphic. Ugly animals like battery hens get treated equally badly in their millions and few people are distracted from their boiled Tesco Value eggs and soldiers.

You only get tearful OPs if you are a cute.

Suspect it'll have been a couple of scrotes who will soon "upgrade" to beating some innocent person to death in the street.

What is that supposed to mean?
It's supposed to mean that there are three million people affected by the floods in Pakistan, with over 1,400 dead and 27,000 trapped awaiting rescue. It's supposed to mean that every day, at least one of our soldiers is killed or maimed fighting a far-off war. It's supposed to mean that the Israel/Lebanon situation is getting all scary again.

And yet, our OP nearly bursts into tears because some bunny got its ears singed.
I think you are missing the point. I get really upset by this.. This is the human condition at one of its worst. That is the issue, the flood is a flood (act of god), the soldiers are fighting an un-winable war, which I blame the useless politicians and there war warmongering (And they are aware they are there).. And the Israel/Lebanon is the patheticness that is the human condition again, who's imaginary friend is better and willy waving, it just pathetic.

So yes, this gets to me.. there is just no need.

Very upsetting.
That poor creature is a child's pet, she cuddled it, she is normal, she is learning what is acceptable in this so called civilised world.
Some ba*t*rd thought it was normal 'fun' to hurt and mutilate a defenceless animal in this same so called civilised world.
What next, they obviously don't have any standards, cats, dogs, children?

I'm with the op.

Very upsetting.

Completely agree, what did she ever do to deserve these dirty scumbags to come and do that to her pet?

What if it had been a dog/cat? Probably would've gotten a different reaction from certain posters on here. frown

Burning a rabbits ears off = Senseless cruelty, nothing but the start of a sadistic ladder that could well lead up to another nutter on a rampage.

Whilst I personally don't feel it's something to cry over, it's a sad reminder of what is occurring in some parts of this country - though I agree there are more important things happening in the world but I can understand someone getting upset.

Trouble is that even if you could spell the threat properly you wouldn't actually have the spine to go through with it so it's a pointless way to have a go really.

Sadly, to many of the inhabitants of doncaster, kicking someones head in after a few too many bowls of loudmouth soup is an all too common occurance these days. Fortunately most of the knuckle draggers here havent graduated to guns yet, but its only a matter of time. We do however, have our own pet bomb maker living here, although he will be playing hide the salami with someone in clink very shortly i suspect

A little insensitive no?
I agree there's a "scale of sh*tty things that can happen in the world" but your comment about it being just a rabbit is just, well, odd.
If your post count wasn't so big I'd have accused you of trolling.
No creature deserves this sort of torture.

Having agreed with CW earlier, I don't think anyone said it did deserve that sort of treatment.

But to nearly cry over the news of it, when- as previously pointed out- there are far worse things going on in the world, seems a little strange.

Different people get upset over different things.

No-one deliberately set out to hurt anyone in Pakistan, whereas someone here went out of their way to torture an animal (for "Fun").

Personally, I got very upset when I heard of the poor disabled girl who appears to have starved to death as her mother had died in their house, I can't help but think that her last days must have been hell, knowing that she can not move to save herself. But I would certainly have been upset about animal cruelty as well.
