Martin Luther King:
“When good people stand by and do nothing when bad things are happening, they are part of the problem”.

A lot of folk could do with being reminded of what their forefathers successfully fought for. I'm sure MLK must be spinning in his grave as to which community is now largely responsible for perpetuating the attitudes he did so much to free people from.

A great shame.....

Shawn Tyson has been sent down for life, with no chance for parole.

Just read this on the website of The Sun:

"A week before killing Cooper and Kouzaris he (Tyson) shot at a group of girls in a car and was arrested for aggravated assault.

He was held in a juvenile detention centre but was mistakenly released on the morning of April 15 due to a mix up. Hours later he killed Cooper and Kouzaris. "

Mistakenly released?! Pathetic. These two chaps died because someone mistakenly released this guy. How messed up is that?

As previously mentioned, life without parole.
What a complete waste of 3 lives.

..have just done some googling for other countries.

From a UN published list in 2008 [2006 data]

Lowest listed intential homicide rate per 100,000 is .... Singapore at 0.39

Canada : 1.86 , USA 5.62 , England and Wales 1.41 , Scotland 2.13 [ 50% higher murder rate than England and Wales scratchchin ]

I feel OK living in SG smile

edit : SG apparently has the 2nd highest prison population per 100,000 ..... maybe there's a lesson in there somewhere .....[ keep the scrotes off the streets ]

yes

Tyson is a cock, he had a choice. Unfortunately I think he is of that mental ability that will enjoy prison.

Hearing the statements of the victims' friends must have been very moving but I doubt it would have had much impact on that evil little . Re Tiggsy's comment about white kids holding all the power - he held the power that night and could have chosen not to waste those two lives. He wasn't a victim of racism, he wasn't forced into his personal situation through racism, he and his family had choices and he chose the wrong path.

What I meant was that the shooter made several stupid choices at a very young age. He could have done so much more but he'll spend the rest of his life behind bars.

He stands more chance of living to a ripe old age inside than out.

We can but hope he pisses off the wrong person in prison.

He's very young. I've a hard time imagining he's at the head of whichever criminal system he moves within. A matter of time, probably.

Or a sore bum for the rest of a very long life. I'm not sure which fate I'd favour.

Yeah! I hear that the curries in US prisons can be pretty evil.
