Had a beer this week with a guy working for the company fitting out some of the apartments and the Shard.

He is working something like the 50th floor. Lifts currently stop at around 55 but build is up to something like 70. So workers up there have to wall another 20 floors!

That is not a nice commute!

Could be in the games, absailing perhaps, give them a chamois and they could give the windows a quickie on the way down for more points. biggrin

I really looks good. Unfortunately, the hospital building lets it down. im, start a petition to have the hospital closed. We're not going to use it. We live miles away.

Ah yes, I seem to remember the cladding thing being posted on here. Much easier aesthetically just to knock the bd down, though.

From what I understand the original plan was to reclad the whole of Guys, but now it's only the smaller, taller tower that's getting done...

I managed to take a closeup picture of the shard last weekend!

Looking forward to when it's finished and being able to get up there.

The plan is to clad part of it in anodised aluminium as the concrete is deteriorating in places.

It's not the most inspiring of refurbishments.

I think the Shard looks a lot better when cloudy, it looks like it's touching the clouds.

When it's sunny, it just looks like a big phallic symbol over a flat London!

The EU tasteless beer storage tower.

Not sure about that bunting though - getting seriously out of control!
