Um.... Not happy with that - thats where my family is descended from!
Can't we find somewhere further away and colder...?
The Falklands? That could actually be quite amusing from all angles.
Could be tricky - the Falklands were pencilled in for €5.9 million under the European Development Fund for the period 2014-2020.

He might have an awkward time down at Deanos Bar in Stanley explaining why those nice new Benny hats everyone was looking forward to won't be happening after all.
Don't call them that as they get a bit upset. Quite a bit upset actually. Don't call them 'Still's either, that's another one on the naughty list. boxedin
...which is why Farage's briefing pack would also include the etiquette tip that ladies in his new Governorship prefer to referred to as 'Miss Diane'. Just to break the ice.

Do you think if farage took his job as an Mep in Brussels seriously or shall I say not protesting about the eu and turning up, could he have changed anything?

Interesting that people feel "embarrassed" by Farage.

Why? Who exactly are you worried about seeing this? What are you worried they will think?

What's he doing there? - squeezing out a steaming "Paul Nuttall" into JCJ's cornflakes?

All this wailing and gnashing of teeth is great fun to watch.

Nigel is now one of the most recognisable politicians around the globe.

He has stuck by his principles for more than 20 years.

He is a beacon of intefrity is a sea of corruption, deceit and dishonesty.

Of course he should be given a knighthood.

We need to get an e-petition going.
I was stunned that the official Vote Leave wanted nothing to do with him. Imagine what the outcome would have been if they had......

Why does he have to be so bloody offensive? The brexit negotiations need to be carried out with conciliatory good grace on both sides and I think we all know that this will not be the case. I've often enjoyed Farage, has had some brilliant moments in the chamber when he's been saying the right things in the right way, but I can't help but think that far too often this one man has set the stage for the EU to treat us in a fairly spiteful manner for the brexit negotiations.
^^^^ This.

There is no need to be a bad winner, no need at all. He's achieved his aim, got what he wanted, now its time to be a growd up.

Are you disappointed with the Leave vote?

I've finally watched the full speech, I do respect him for his courage. To stand up for what you believe against the grain like he does, takes balls.

I thought a fair few of the comments that he made were decent, but I also believe that the speech would have been far better without the digs and snide comments. Saying "I know you people here have never had real jobs" really negates the following point.

Too much emotion in his speech, he wants to throw the referendum results back into the faces of the EU, which isn't going to help our country at all.

Winning with class is quite easy, he didn't do it very well.

It's a good thing that the europeans consider him to be a total tw#t. A speech of that type will do one thing and one thing only; put the backs up of the whole team we're having to negotiate with so making the job much harder. Well done Nige.

I hope this analogy works:

It would be like spending years traveling singlehanded around the world via the North and South poles only to find a pilot jumps on board at Canary Wharf, takes the tiller and sails the boat under Tower Bridge to Westminster while you are tied up in the galley..........can't blame Farage for being a bit emotional myself.

It wasn't full of class, but given the size of the fight he's been through and won, I can't begrudge him wanting to piss on the chips of a few eurocrats.

Who knows, he may help them wake up to what's happening to the benefit of our allies, but I doubt it.

I don't know who wouldn't work with who. I had the impression that he wouldn't work with them unless they put him in charge.

I know that Dan Hannan offered to do joint speeches with Farage, but I think that only one such event took place.

Hannan, Farage and Johnson would have been a killer combination, and I think that they would have secured a larger, less divisive victory.

Win the battle but lose the war. Does anyone think we'll even leave? Nobody with any power seems to actually want it.

I expect some kind of deal or remain party will get elected and that will be the last time the Great British public gets a referendum on Europe. Then we can settle down and become a federal Europe once and for all.

Yep, restart the 'cringeworthy' thread for the children who can't come to terms with the fact they lost.

Oh yes, go Nigel - more gumption than almost all other UK politicians put together.
