Just heard the same noises going off tonight, heard it for a few minutes coming from the same direction as before.

Strange.

I've heard strange sonic boom like noises too tonight in the Midlands.

I'm in SE London, it was exactly the same as last time.

Ed Miliband's 'Stone' is said to be stored in a garage in SE London, perhaps it has fallen over.

Local Conservative Association having a bit of victory knees-up, probably got a bit leery with the sound system, but tonight they're going to party like it's 1983.

If you hear the faint sound of wailing and gnashing of teeth drifting across the breeze, that'll probably be the local Labour Party Friday night social.

Might be the sound of our recently departed MPs blowing their brains out.

That's a bit grim, but I have to say for some of them it wouldn't take much more than a mild sneezing fit.

Reading this thread reminds me of a strange noise a few of us heard in January. Middle of the day and myself and my parents were chatting to a neighbour when we heard this big dull boom in the sky towards the North East, all I can describe it as was as if you hit an empty drum or empty oil tank, at the time I put it down to some sort of sonic boom but perhaps it was something else?

Would we find out if the Russians were flying noisy stuff about the North Sea, to be chased away by out noisy stuff?

Oddly enough, the Russians have been doing a noisy tour of the UK today, without being chased away by anyone, as part of the Open Skies agreement.

Or maybe it was a neighbour banging an empty drum?

Unlikely as the nearest neighbour except for the one we were talking to is about 2 miles away and it definitely sounded like it was high up not at ground level.

I'm in Redditch and I heard them as well. Like before I assumed they were fireworks

Just heard something in Blackpool. Sounds exactly like fireworks except they're not in a fixed position.

i.e., bang bang bang bang

Pause

(slightly quieter) Bang bang bang bang

Pause

(getting quieter) bang bang bang bang

And so on until they're in the distance

Also to add, sounded like it went from East to West

Weird.
