How exactly do you make someone who can afford to buy a small country understand that some people have to chose between food and energy every winter in an 'advanced' country like the UK?

Snouts in troughs...

Worse than previously thought.
Kerching.

I was going to post an oink but not after yesterday's news.
I did think this crusade to get "deniers" imprisoned was a) totally wrong with respect to how science is done. I don't get the people who disagreed with my research in trouble with the law, I try to argue my case with my data and my working out. If I can't perhaps I concede, perhaps I go away to do more work. b) is a double edge sword that could just as easily land them in jail if anyone were to look into their scientific practices....huge risk to take. I guess they really believe they are above it all, unimpeachable.

Al Gore demonstrates his inability to understand some simple maths re the ACTUAL cost of energy.

Mr Gore said he was "puzzled" by the government's wholesale cuts to subsidies for renewable energy.

It is difficult for someone to "understand" something when it could cost them significant sums of money.

However it was all very clear and understandable when millions of dollars are flooding his way.

Such people (along with the lying fraudulent scientists if found to be) should have their assets stripped as profits of crime.

It all started in the 1940's apparently according to this Aussie 'Centre of Excellence'.

We're doomed apparently.

Skimmed the early paragraphs of the page on the link.

2030 eh?

I will read it in more detail to find out how they are going to teach pigs to fly.

They do mention that I assume?

If His Holiness is so concerned, he should have stayed at home instead of compounding the issue by flying half way round the world and posing off the back of a popemobile. It would be far better if he walked amongst his congregation and spoke to them, Hypocrite

Listening to R4 this morning, it's not too far fetched to see some angle linking 'atmospheric deaths' to vehicle emissions (Naughtie was really trying before 08:00) and thus onto Paris boondoggle to bring in some more regulations. It's all atmos/climate/nox/scare.

My daughter commented during last night's news - 'Why the fuss? Aren't cars much, much cleaner than ever before anyway?'

Yesterday afternoon I had a call from some pre-recorded PPI style . Noticing unusual in that sadly, except this was about mis-selling of solar panels. Apparently, my house doesn't face due south which is why I could get compo and assorted roof repairs done at no cost.

Is this the start of an avalanche of solar panel payouts?

Interesting. But where does the compo come from? I wouldn't fancy my chances with the average fly by night Solar installer company.

They're only after charging you for the non-refundable £99 assessment fee. Then you'll get "oh, you're not eligible for compo, never mind". Kerching, Next.
