OT: I have long thought this. I've used other fora which do offer this facility and it's been very useful.

I have in fact recently decided to largely stop posting unless it's a question or answer on a purely factual point (Can I paint my car black? Yes, you can.) otherwise you're virtually guaranteed to get someone jump on your post and rip into it and/or you, rather than discussing it sensibly. Just becomes pointless posting subjective opinion. Great shame but this site has gone massively downhill in recent times. (And there we are, a subjective view for someone to shred me with!)

Apologies for the emotive language used, however I find it abhorrent that someone who has seen their own mother do something stupid and selfish, would then choose to risk inflicting the same on her own children.

That she is dead is very sad, but it doesn't justify the 'promising footballer' crap dead youngsters always seem to be eulogised as. She was a druggy who died doing drugs.

100% Agree with you chap, but its not the PH way. I try to put myself in a scenario similar and its beyond my imagination thinking as she apparently has. IMHO Bob knew

Whilst I disagree with a lot of your posts I actually think you have nailed it with that one.
Nailed it as in what a lot of people may be thinking. I personally found some of the "fawning" coverage immediately after her death to be sugar coated garbage.

Every day there are REAL people who just get on with it. "IT" being life itself.

I think this is fair enough. All the "she was a great mother" coverage rings a little hollow.

Indeed. Sometimes it's a flip of the coin who makes it through. Best not to judge in the long run.

I was thinking maybe she wasn't a habitual heroin user, but rather she was depressed and committed suicide in the same way her mother died. It kind of makes sense when you look at her last Twitter post.

Shooting up with Heroin next to your 1 year old kid while going on TV claiming you are a great mum is a bit more than stupid.

I do wonder at the language used. My response to people who say such things is to remember their words if and when their own child does the very same.

I think unless you're an addict it's hard to understand, I have friends who've done drugs and one who overdosed and died as a result. I could never understand their urges, but one described it as no different to feeling hungry and wanting to eat, but always wanting there to be more food in that single portion.

Unless she left a note, I guess we'll never know if it was accidental or suicide.

Heroin addiction is extremely powerful. When I speak to users they say it's like that from the first hit.

However, I still agree with what -Z- said.

So its basically a case of "you weren't there man" with anyone who acts in the way she has?

Ultimately there is no compulsion on any of us to judge her, condemn her or do anything other than express regret at the circumstances that led to this outcome.

I have no way of knowing whether it was intentional or accidental. I feel sad for her if it was a choice she felt she had to make, and I would still feel sad if it was an accidental overdose. Mostly however my sympathy is for those left behind, who also don't know WHY.

I completely agree too, I think what she did was disgusting.

I assume you mean the OD - unless she was accidentally doing heroin...

Indeed the OD. The questions inside the family must be horrific, who knew she was taking heroin, where was she getting it from etc. Seems very unlikely that people close to her didn't know she was using.

Logically, the solution is to not take any in the first place?

If by "knowing" you mean 100%, then probably not. If by the standards the coroner will use, then there are lots of evidential ways in which a conclusion can be drawn beyond an obvious note / letter.

Indeed. But the world is a little more complicated than that.

Yup - especially as they were probably attuned to the signs and her behaviour as she'd been in a bad way before.
