Thing is, Dalzell steel works is the only rolling plant in the entire UK that can produce the necessary grade of steel for Trident submarines.
If that's true then it's a shoo-in for Defence Industrial Strategy funding, even if it only pays for mothballing and keeping the plant in place and not asset stripped; the shipyard in Barrow has had millions to keep various functions going between sub contracts.

Chill OP. Primary school starters are always heavily influenced by their first teachers. It's often the main adult influence they receive after their parents. It's very normal for a youngster to believe everything they are taught by their teachers. The ability to think and critique develops as they get older, together with the ability to understand other peoples point of view.

Both of my children started school and came home quoting as fact what "Miss" had told them.

A comment on that Guardian article made me laugh:

"Still, I'm sure John Swinney's magic abacus will turn that number back to a positive one..."

Apparently according to the SNP the vote that was passed today meaning English MP's only being able to vote on English matters is divisive of the Union.

So banging on about independence from the union for Scotland isn't?

Is there no end to the hypocrisy of the SNP?

All right, all right, don't take life so seriously.

I will reply to that post shortly. Perhaps not this week due to work demands but I will reply shortly.

By the way, let's not build up my response too much - I'm just a punter with my own views and thoughts like you and the next person.

Already discussed at length. Therefore you obviously don't read or understand the people who post. (Not) Surprised.

I found the most worrying thing about her tweet was that her first concern was that it damaged "the cause" and only as an afterthought mentioned that it was wrong.
Neither, Aston. I just don't back track on this thread on my periodic visits. Which means I might miss things but hey-ho.

If used, then the word "cause" wasn't the best choice for obvious reasons.

Frankly it beggars belief the SNP can oppose this.

The ONLY party in the UK wanting any sort of split is the SNP. They currently have their cake and eat it, so they can basically fk off trying to prevent others having some sort of parity with them.

I'm actually sick of the sound of them. Sick of the sight of them. Sick of their mickey mouse amateur MPs. Sick of their 'only party for Scotland' pish, sick of their lies, deceit, false hope and promises. Sick of their taking credit for good and blaming the Tories for bad. Sick of the way they 'forget' they helped put the Tories in power this time, in 79 and worked with them in the SP. Sick of the flip flopping on oil reliance. Sick of their pie in the sky economic plans. Sick of the neverendum hanging over us. Sick of their love of the EU. Sick of the state interventions of named persons, land reform and alcohol pricing. Sick of their ahole cybernat following. Sick of the pig ugly wee runt they call a leader. Sick of fat Salmond's smug coupon. I'm sick.

I saw one cybernat suggesting the next indyref should be a public vote to avoid interference from MI5 bla bla. At first I thought mentalist but now I'm not so sure- at least we could see which cretins are actually voting for this bullst.

Come on Edin. You came across as pretty exasperated at an accusation you blindly followed SNP doctrine - yet here you post up a link, effectively saying "look, Fish 2 is sticking it to those ScotNats, she's not that bad", then say "if used, the word "cause" wasn't the best choice for obvious reasons".

If? It's there, in big bloody letters, at the top of the article YOU linked to! If indeed..

Surely if you get pissed off at the accusations of being a blind follower, or member of the Party, then you could have commented on the element of her pretty damned short tweet that is clearly distasteful to both you and others.

Something along the lines of "Sturgeon sticking it to the ScotNats. Unfortunate choice of words to do it though...".

Would make a huge difference in people's perception of you and your claimed impartiality.

Perfectly summed up.

Their only purpose in life is to cause as much st for the government as possible, in a cynical attempt to convince the bravehearts back home that Westminster isn't up to the job and trigger another 'once in a generation' referendum.

They are not people of their word. Sturgeon originally said they wouldn't want to vote on English matters, or the fox hunting bill. What a pack of lies that turned out to be.

At least the government can make a bit of progress now without that bunch of trouble makers fking about at the back of the class.

They were chatting about this this morning in R4.

Pete Wishart was giving it 'It's the most awful thing in the whole entire world, it's going to cause so many problems for the speaker, and it's going to end up in judicial review and review in the supreme court, not before he had a feeble dig at the Lords "donors and cronies"
The bit that stuck in my mind was "this has been rushed through"

aren't the SNP always claiming that parliament is dawdling on Scottish devolution in exactly the same time period.

How long before the prove black is white

If you don't track the thread, why did you jump to the conclusion "(Not) surprised this has not been mentioned?". When it had.

Avoiding the facts, jumping to erroneous conclusions and spreading misinformation intended to smear those who don't share your views.

Hmm. You are an SNP MP AICMFP. smile
