Craig Houston recorded a similar podcast with her. As you say if even 5% of what she alleges has any basis in fact then that is a scandal of monumental proportions. Corporate manslaughter charges lodged against those in positions of authority could see Sturgeon, Fags Freeman and others taking to the dock.
I said all this when it was happening. Nobody wanted to talk about it though because of the "bigger scandal" of Dominic Cummings (remember him.... bet you'd had nay a thought about him for several years now until I mentioned him there) taking his trip to Barnard Castle.

All the while the 'bad Toarees' were playing hard and fast with Covid laws (something Humza did but got away with thanks to expensive lawyers paid for by his ex bit-on-the-side's father) Freeman was forcing care homes to accommodate Covid infected hospital patients under threat of legal action. Emergency powers gave Freeman carte blanche to publish Executive Orders, which she did and then subsequently had deleted from ScotGov website when one of her underlings was interviewed on TV admitting that known Covid patients had been put amongst vulnerable but until that point Covd-free care-home residents.

It was exactly how it looked. Freeman believed she was freeing hospital space for a tidal-wave of Covid cases that never happened, but instead initiated a cull of ellderly people in Scotland.

I've contacted an artisan producer of popcorn for a bulk order. Good to support local businesses.
Which made me think what is in the complete UK election night kit

Step 1. Book the following day off as holiday and thereafter every year celebrate the election date as Independence (from the SNP) day.

Whisky for a small dram for every SNP loss.

Popcorn.

Paracetamol for the almost certain hangover.

Ensure lounge carpet is freshly hoovered to keep clothes clean whilst rolling about the floor laughing.

Recent Boundary Commission amendments I think. Had the Nationalists screaming blue murder about the injustice of it all, so it can only be a good thing in my book.

Anyway, if this account suddenly goes silent from the 5th of July onwards, you will all know that I drank myself to oblivion at the results of the SNP returning fewer than 10 seats. Some of the most recent polling has shown fewer than 5, with a couple of outliers considering tactical voting returning zero. Could you imagine - zero. None. Nada. Zilch. Not one SNP MP at Westminster. I'd go on a binge for a year to celebrate.

Your poor liver. biggrin Less than 10 seats - a real possibility right now - would be possibly the funniest thing in politics for the past 20+ years, and I think I'm going to plan a quiet day on the 5th.

One note of caution for everyone though,

Once these people have fought like cats in a sack to keep a position in the Smaller National Party and failed, they won't just cease to exist. The gravy bus is just too comfortable, so they'll scramble to find roles in other less obvious parts of government - Advisors, Consultants, Media Relations, Civil Servants. The smarter ones will already be looking to escape.

Keep your eyes peeled for their CVs.

His lack of confidence in SNP supporters having the ability to arrange postal votes suggest he either thinks they are thick or they are not that committed to the SNP

I am hoping Labour are getting a bandwagon effect. Many people like voting for perceived winners. That isn't the SNP this time

As they have been trained to hate Toareees surely a Labour govt is a good thing?

Branchform being released before the election will not help them at all, thankfully

But we're heading for 5 years of labour being 'those bds in Westminster' which should be good for the SNP.

Branchform, existing and future incompetence, loss of short money in 6 weeks plus the deft touch of "passion fingers" Swinney should see them off. Scotland has consistently lagged the rest of the UK economically, it seems unlikely they'll pull a rabbit out of the hat after 17 years.

That is IMO going to be the big kicker for them. The General Election is a free hit against the SNP for all the soft Yessers and the hardened ALBA-types. The SNP 1 Green 2 Holyrood election types (aka ZedLeg) will also still be sore at the bad-faith dropping of the Bute House agreement.

This election isn't coming at the best time for the Conservatives, but it is absolutely coming at the worst time for the SNP.

Speedbump Swinney strikes again.

So if the SNP get the projected decimation in the general election, they lose a lot of cash from Westminster.

Which with that loss, coupled to their current financial situation…

Could they struggle to find a decent Scottish election campaign?

Yep. That's what I've been saying for over a year now. A year ago the SNP were scrabbling to find auditors so they could file their accounts in time to qualify for their 2023 short-money payment (because their previously appointed treasurers had resigned rather then rubber-stamp the books on Sturgeon and Murrell's order, having been refused access to the details of the accounts). This revealed that the party had had to raid the accounts of supposedly autonomous local branches in order to meet debts, plus cut costs by closing several branch offices. It was only the short money that kept them from bankruptcy.

A year later and membership is down and no benefactors are forthcoming. In six weeks time the SNP stand to lose about £1,000,000 in expected income (this is a party already running on a shoestring).

They are absolutely caught between a rock and a hard place. I expect them to run a practically non-existent General Election campaign and to try and save as much money as possible for the Holyrood election in 2026.
