That's a selection of remarkably similar phrases if they haven't been cut and pasting.
It's just journalese, a sub-standard, pruned back and bastardised form of what was once English perpetrated by those who would seek to describe themselves as journalists; John Pilger or Hunter S. Thompson, they are not; but nor do I see any need for plagiarism or collusion to generate this drivel.desolate said:

The post above mine is absolutely spot on.
I do think the BBC is occasionally biased, and have posted on this thread when I have felt they were (Sarah Montague's interviews with the London Mayor candidates being a case in point), but the reaction to this particular story just feels like an overreaction, as though people were desperately waiting to be offended and were pleased when they were.

& so it continues; barely disguised by putting part of the title in quotes. Its over, can't the BEEB just accept it & that perhaps it won't actually be a 'tragedy'?: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-38344175

The BBC have about three women foreign correspondents they love sending to a middle east war zone to sympathise with the underdog side, who all sound like an Irish woman being strangled.
The one you named, plus Barbara Plett Usher and Orla Guerin.
I can't listen to any of the, I just turn the radio off.

That fking Guerin woman drives me absolutely insane. Makes my teeth itch, as does that other bleeding heart tt Fergal Keane. I very nearly smashed up my telly last time I saw him. I can't remember what the story was about as I was so angry at him

It's "in quotes" because it's a quote from the interviewee.Colonial said:
And now the delicate little snowflakes are upset because a football commentator made a joke about Brexit on a comedy panel show.
God, the alt-right is worse than the left for getting upset about the most trivial of things.
Was the joke any good? I can't find any outrage.God, the alt-right is worse than the left for getting upset about the most trivial of things.
