I really wonder how many more complaints have been made to the BBC over the last week. Trouble is, they have shut down all feedback by responding so quickly (within 48 hours of his death) to the initial flurry of complaints. Where is their accountability to licence payers, the BBC Trust is a complete fking joke, made up of urbanite do gooders and failed politicians who seem to answer to Parliament more than representing licence payers.
I still complained, but at the part where it says is it regarding NM funeral, I said no and got to fill in a complaint form, along with asking how they can monitor complaints if they do not let people complain ? I do not expect a reply. Smiler. said:
No, it's the unique, one-off ANC Cobra.

The bit that got me was when it had all gone through, the website said that they may not reply due to not wanting to waste licence payers money, it does not stop them normally, how many people did they send to SA.
And no doubt they all flew business class direct to Jo'Burg with BA at £4000 a pop, now there is wasting TV licence payers money.Been quite noticeable this weekend as we've been on the road and in hotels. Caught a few versions of the feedback/points of view type programmes.
There has been one theme running and that has been the thousands of complaints about the coverage.
It's varied in the degree of opposition but generally it's been along the lines of "yes it's a significant event but why the hours of repetitive coverage / why hours of live coverage which could be condensed into a highlights hour / why the exclusion of other important stories"
Very much like this thread really.
The BBC response has very much been along the lines of "We are right you are wrong. We are superior."
Any party that proposes handing the BBC their arses back will be looked upon favourably at vote time.

I know there are some who think they couldn't possibly live without the Beeb/worth every Penny etc, I aint one of them.
Mrs just watched a BBC programme on Sky Anytime, Bodies in the Bog, or something like that, and they even managed to shoehorn the term 'Climate Chaos' into that!

Yes. I got a reply to my complaint. Was just the same one that was on their page despite me asking several questions. I suspect they never even read it just saw the title and sent the standard reply. There has been one theme running and that has been the thousands of complaints about the coverage.

I've spent all week traveling around the country working on customer sites. Never on my own. Mandela never came up once as a talking point. Other than here and endless coverage on the bbc it wouldn't have been mentioned.
I don't think it's just the bbc news, every time I watch itv london evening news we have to suffer yet another
Story linked or associated to Steven lawrence, it was terrible what happened to the poor so and so but it happened and it was a long time ago so why do we have to keep constantly hearing about it day after day its old news now and isn't it time the news moved on and his mother also because she just comes across now as milking the situation IMO
