Now that it has been deemed necessary to "name" "storms" for some reason should we not also "name" other potentially identifiable weather events.

Periods of calm for example.

Or periods of extended warmth.

Or dryness.

Or wetness.

Or extended mild and tranquil conditions.

Persistent cloud cover.

Etc.

What do we think?

Should this be proposed to the Met office as a means of fully engaging public stakeholders in understanding and the management of weather?
Periods of calm probably kill more people than storms in the UK. Increased levels of pollutants and particulates have a strong impact on people with respiritry problems.
Trans-boundary pollution from Europe brought over on warm slow southerlies sure is a problem. Lots of it and it hangs around.

It raises a lot of peoples' blood pressure, so there is a real macro health impact; ban them! slap them with a NHS surcharge.

Andrew Tyrie just described the disastrous results of groupthink operating on a colossal scale. It wasn't about climate junk and bunk but it might as well have been, and from somebody who would agree with that notion.

If I heard the trailer correctly before rapidly changing the channel, Prince Charles has got himself a TV special on Monday, sone kind of special faith religious broadcast and definitely one to avoid.

Nah, it's Dumbo (the original 1941 version) being screened again. Charlie boy is being interviewed by Mark Kermode about his lifelong association with the role.

hehe

I'll still give it a miss - though if anyone has stomach pills strong enough to cope, it would be interesting to know if he updates us on his personal computer climate model projection ecohype nonsense.

"Just 96 months to save world, says Prince Charles. The price of capitalism and consumerism is just too high, he tells industrialists."

That was in October 2011. In November 2019 it would only be fair for The Independent to remove their embarrassment by removing that silly article from the web, as they've done recently with the Viner article and its stupidity regarding children not knowing what snow is.

I prefer them to retain such preposterous s***e on the web, that way everyone can look at the lies and see just how stupid they are, they were, and how they have not come to pass at all. It also shows how they change their position to suit, which evidences that it is not true...

Can someone please help me? I'm having an interesting discussion with a warmist (who I think is weakening) and he has proffered this article from 2023 by Dana Nuccitelli...

http://www.theguardian.com/environment/climate-con...

Im sure this new sort of 97% consensus idiocy has been debunked. Does anyone have a helpful link to Mckittrick or whoever demolishing the statistics?

Thank you!

Yes, Sky News are trailing an interview with him as part of their propaganda support for the global warming jamboree in Paris. You just knew a clown like Charles would believe in this guff.

Did I read that he will be giving a presentation (or a monologue perhaps) related to the Jamboree? If so I assume he will be sure to fly in - possibly by helicopter as usual?

I wonder how the scientists really feel about his self selected involvement in the CC project given his seemingly unshakable belief in homeopathy?

You'd think that would have an effect, but sadly they seemed all to happy when the Chief of Creationism himself joined the Cause......

True, although the political ramifications of that, given the global following he can claim to influence, would have been enough to make any true politician turn a blind eye irrespective of their position regarding belief clubs or other types of group affiliations.

More analysis of temperature fraud, comparing 2010 with 2012 datasets.

NASA GISS - NASA-GISS has "massively altered" its own datasets so that especially after WWII a clear warming appears – although it never existed.
