I'm also sure that your contract covers your employer for this a well.

The Olympics are a one off event for two months. A period over which TFL need to modify their contract with their staff and block any of them from going on holiday, get them to work extra shifts etc and all at a time when anyone with kids will be missing out on their summer holiday as a result.

So, in the grand scheme of things paying their employees £2500 each so that they can modify their contract over this period seems a pretty good deal.

The Olympics is a one off, once in a life time event that the whole world will be watching. It has to be right.

The couple of times I have been on DLR is has been really good, even on the way to the London Marathon, the driver was top draw with a train full of people that weren't familiar with the system and were preoccupied.

The staff will have had all all of their summer leave cancelled. Their work will be watched by people from all over the globe and the slightest cock up will be all over the worlds media in a flash.

Let them have their bonus. Once it's over I'd be pulling Mr Crowe into the office for a few quite words though. Or maybe have him shot as part of the closing ceremony

What on earth is wrong with people making as much money as they can? Good luck to them. It's only a few quid an hour.

No one has threatened strike action, it's merely a deal negotiated to guarantee that the staff will come in for a set amount of extra hours each. DLR is a business and will make a lot of extra money during the Olympics. To see the staff share in that extra profit while guaranteeing all the extra hours will be covered is a good deal all round.

I can't see why the usual PH village idiots are circling all round this one with their pitchforks and burning torches whining that they "should all be sacked". Beggars belief frown
