This is the opposite pole of 'the mental' so often referred to here. Instead of dishing it out, taking abuse in a way that is incomprehensible to most of usMorningside said:

This is the sickest of the lot. He KNEW what he had planned in advance.
Hope he comes to a sickening a painful end.
I hate to say this but I think she will take her own life within a couple of years unless she comes to terms with it.
All I can hope is that the scum that did this is dealt with appropriately in this life or the next. I'm sure hell has a special place for sts like that.
I've just seen the interview with her. Proper tearjerking stuff. Did she actually lose her eyes? It looks like it from the footage.
The sentence simply won't be long enough, although hopefully it will include an IPP element with licence conditions upon his eventual release which will set him up to fail immediately.
Needs execution really though.

True; I know a woman who's been in a string of abusive relationships. She came out of one with a broken nose, burns & various other injuries and started seeing a really nice, stable lad, who she eventually dumped for being 'feminine'. He wasn't at all, he was just a normal caring bloke. She went straight into another relationship with another tt who used her as a punching bag. It's frightening that the poor woman in the article is how many of them end up - although not to this extreme.

Sounds like my ex. Had been in a few relationships where she was smacked about a bit, including the previous boyfriend punching her in the belly whislt pregnant with his kid. It's frightening that the poor woman in the article is how many of them end up - although not to this extreme.
I tried my best for her but would appear that's not what she wants in life

That is evil. Does make you think that maybe he should have the same done to him in return.
He probably will when he gets in prison, other prisoners won't like that at all...however will say that some women do bring this on themselves to a certain extent. The last time I saw some bloke laying into his woman I piled in to save her and ended up with them both trying to take my head off. Some women cannot tell the difference between the unpredictability and fun they perceive in dating a 'cheeky wideboy' type and a psychotic bullying scumbag!

It is curious the way that works. Like you, I've had some extrememly aggressive responses when simply saying "are you OK?" to a woman who is being very severely treated by a supposed boy-friend.Equally it seems some women/people just don't know when to shut up in the interests of their own wellbeing.
With everyone (i would include myself too although apart from this post i have not contributed to this particular thread) wishing scum get what they deserve its a wonder some one (or group) don't ensure there is a bullet waiting for this type of person when they complete their sentence.
There was an interview with the lady on BBC Breakfast today, it seems she is doing ok & coping with life pretty well.
