What kind of bladder infection results in a sudden hospital stay though? Not conspiracy theorising, just curious.
When you're 92, any I would have thought.
Possibly depends on who you are and your postcode, though.

So he was only admitted to hospital because he's Prince Philip, right...

It's probably just about the most common reason OAPs are admitted. Conspiracy/favouritism jibes are really dumb.

When are the people who organise these events realise that we're dealing with a 91 y/o man and an 86y/o woman.

The days of standing around in the cold for ever and watching crap they probably aren't even interested in should have gone years ago.

If we wanted to celebrate the jubilee, we should have done so by giving the pair of them a year off. Any other couple of that age with a few bob would be down at their holiday home in southern Spain, not freezing their knackers off on the Thames.

Considering we're supposed to like them, we haven't treated them very well this weekend.

They choose to do it. No one forces them. Perhaps she likes the job and wants to keep doing it for as long as possible?

There has been, for a long time, a fairly obvious replacement in the form of Charles. In fact this obvious choice has been around long enough for him to be nearing retirement age himself. Then there are Charles's children if he decides he doesn't want the job. William is nearly thirty, old enough to do the job.

Keep in mind her experience with abdication, of duty and of the lasting bitterness and impact it had upon her family directly. Her mother held the conviction till the day she died that Bertie's early death was entirely attributal to the behavior of his brother and therefore her early elevation to the crown and the loss of the life she was living.

Abdication will have been burnt into her from an early age as something akin to treason. I wouldnt fancy my chances of trying to talk her into it!

Queen all in black.....

I wonder....
Posted that a bit early didn't you. Queen there to the end, dressed in gold with diamonds, Charles making a speech where he joked about his father hearing the crown from Hospital. Decent fireworks and a good show. Move on, nothing to see...
Just a black cape, her Maj was wearing gold frock underneath
How did you know that, dirty boy..? Colour of knickers, please...

You joke, but I went to visit my brother at a rather smart private clinic where he'd an op and the nurse brought us a wine list..

I suppose "precautionary" could well mean "best not have Phil on stage with a blind black guy"...
