Shocking behaviour from the police, what an utter waste of time. If they weren't surfing Facebook they might have caught the crims.

And they wonder why Joe Public despairs at their ineptitude rolleyes
how do you know how many people they have out looking for the car?

Seems like it was less than they could have. If you think it was just and right that the police choose to spend their time chastising the victims that's your lookout. Personally I'd be fking livid with them rage

Lesley just told me that they came to advise her on how to act. They were concerned she was thinking of taking matters into her own hands and her comments could be seen to be offensive!
No way. Offensive to whom?

Surely her actions on FB are the very best form of vigilant behaviour and quite possibly, actually definitely, the only good use of the damned thing I've ever heard of.

It is not offensive to any sane person to condemn the actions of the anti-social, it is how actually formed a 'society' for crying out loud.
Offensive to the scrotes that stole her car obviously. Against their 'ooman rights' or summat, innit bruv.

Grampian Police have a no pursuit policy, i saw someone say the car was spotted with a police car behind it at one point, but there was no pursuit. Also there were various calls were made to the police about sightings...

I'm actually surprised I haven't had a visit from Plod. I'm a friend of Lesley and all she was saying was that they were a bunch of wee s (she has a way with words!). Some of her friends were saying that they hoped she got the car back in one piece and I pointed out that it might be better if they killed themselves by wrapping it round a tree.

The police visited her at 10:30pm specifically about her FB comments.
So they really did visit 'specifically' about her FB comments, are you certain?
I have asked and will update when I hear back but my understanding is as I described i.e. specifically about FB.
Ok, just got this back:

Lesley's Mum, did the police visit Lesley specifically about the FB comments or were they there anyway?
Lesley's Mum said:
Specifically for that. The car was still on the run.
onesickpuppy said:
Wow.
That is unforgivable.

The car still being abused and they worry about a bit of vented anger.

Not on and a bad show.

The other thread said that the area is suffering from repeated thefts accompanied with bragging on FB, have these people been targetted for a visit too?
They took her Range Rover spare key and were offering it up to any other scrotes that wanted it on their FB page apparently. She's had new keys coded now though, but that won't stop them coming back for a go. I can see this turning nasty as people just don't see the police doing enough.

The Plod basically know who these little fkers are but it would seem they are powerless to do anything. Quite why, I have no idea.
Worrying stuff.

Gramp Pol have a shocking reputation in Abz, but I think the incompetence stems from the way the force is managed, rather than the officers themselves.

You cannot offend anyone who commits the offence you are commenting on, their own action has removed themselves from that particular social more.

That would be like not being able to remove someone from society by putting them in gaol, because removing anyone liberty is offensive, it is offensive if you haven't offended, but if you do wrong you're 'offended card' is withdrawn.

The Police that visited her house may not have been the response officers that were out driving a car looking for the nicked caar - so those 2 officers may never have been capable of activley going looking for the car - so it may be flawed to think that 2 officers visiting the woman means 2 less officiers searching for the car.

the question then becomes whether the Police should have gone round to the woamsn house to talk to her about FB. Perhaps the Police have experiences of dealing with similar matters where they have got out of hand and were trying to do her a favour?

So, a man is arrested for a joke to 'blow up the airport' non-threat and these thugs threaten to fire-bomb the police station (a far greater likelihood I think) and no arrest or swoop to disrupt this gang, what exactly are the police doing about these thugs, they are not just thumbing their collective noses, they are threatening the very core of the process.

Staggering and shaming situation.

Offensive is such a generic term...

Incredible. What do they imagine their jobs to be about if not chasing and catching criminals? I guess that hassling victims of crime is a lot easier for them.

Total O/T but I followed a link from the first one to a story about a female teacher being caught canoodling with a male pupil.

Her name was 'Eppie Sprung Dawson', apparently. rofl

i hope car thief scum all crash into a ravine and die in agony because of a fuel fire.

this is my opinion and if i want to post it anywhere im free to do so.

what the police should have done is deal with actual recorded crime than spend their time dealing with "thought crimes".

That old joke about somebody wanting to join the police but being refused when they were found to have a brain appears to be true.

How sad that, whatever remaining number of officers there may be with a functioning brain cell, they may be tarred with the same brush as these eejits.
