Build a very tall wall around Liverpool.
Put all the Scousers on some ships in the Meeeersey.
Bulldoze the city into the river.
Sink the ships.

It's a start.

wink

You'd think so but we can guess not...in any case his timing would be wrong to save the planet and a few £tens of thousands in top private school fees - and also save his leftist conscience for sending any Porritt to such an establishment.

What won't leftists prostitute for their bankrupt ideology, the truth was a ho to the cause long ago.

How about a policy of releasing dangerous animals in the UK? Two benefits to this. Firstly it takes away the controversial job of deciding who goes and who stays. More importantly though, it is more likely to get rid of the weak and infirm, and especially the unlucky. These groups are the biggest burden on the rest of society, and what with their various medicines, wheelchair fuel and propensity for spilling things, they are the worst for the environment too.

Bears and wolves would be the best place to start. If they don't catch enough, bring some tigers in, and if we still have too many people, crocodiles. Snakes would be a last resort. All the savaged bodies could then be thrown into the sea to attract sharks.

I've given this way too much thought. Would love to see someone get eaten by a lion just walking along some normal street in England.

My favourite idea though, to make our population sustainable, would be for everyone who believes this guff to kill themselves.

How many people could this island support if we had to grow all our own food?

No imports no handouts etc how many?

I've no idea, it's just a thought.

I'm totally in favour of draconian population control, one child per family/couple and that's it. Anything else get massively penalised/removed at birth.

People of child bearing age /capability with more than 3 court convictions forcibly sterilised.

Don't like it, fine P_ss off somewhere else.

One per couple, so fairly rapid population reduction from breeding sources then. Any ban or ceiling on immigration?

As to your parting shot, and in the best traditions of PH cameraderie smile as the UK has no such policy whereas China does, how about you and others of the same ilk P_ssing off to China while leaving here others who aren't such miserable breeders?!

The trouble is, as with China, the ones who would ps off would be the ones you don't want to ps off. The ones with the drive, enterprise and ambition to ps off from countries with such draconian laws. The ones you would be left with would be the ones who would have more kids anyway, but lack the wherewithall to feed them.

About 70% apparently - according to some unsubstantiated scuttlebutt I heard on Radio 4.

Don't need to do that.

Rejig the tax system. First child gets you a tax break. Second and subsequent whacks you with a massive tax hike to pay for their schooling etc.

Liking the sterilising of crims idea...not because it will stop 'em from having kids, they'll already have done that, nope - just because it's nasty and will make their bks hurt. Winner of an idea.

I'd also consider the provision of long-term sub-skin contraceptives either being available at school for all teenage kids. Think of the misery that could save.

All well and good to sterilise criminals, but I can't help thinking with more liberal use of the death penalty and more of them in prison they'd be breeding a lot less anyway.

I don't see why this has to be so controversial. Dissolve the health and safety office. No, not literally. Lift tax and bans on cigarettes, perhaps also alcohol. Lift safety restrictions on cars so that manufacturers can make light, nimble, fun deathtraps if they want to and we can buy them if we want to.

Voila, population hacked down to 30 million people in no time, all of them free to live or die how they damn well want.

maybe stop immigration by "asylum seekers" who seem to have passed thru several safe countries might not be a bad start ?
