Russia's new Armata battle tank, which is set to officially debut in Moscow for the Victory Day parade on Saturday, May 9, appears to have broken down during a dress rehearsal on Thursday, according to reports from Russian media and a video of the parade from RuptlyTV.

classic Russians
It's curious that buisinessinsider has chosen to leave out the part where the Tank's engine was running the entire time and that after 15 or so minutes the tank has driven off under it's own power. I have seen this covered by many publication and this is the first one to have left this trivial bit of info out. Which is strange since the video of the entire event is posted on RT, which business insider used as the source...http://www.businessinsider.com/russias-armata-tank...

Free and unbiased press indeed...
Also, do I need to remind you of the completely broken and overpriced F-35, which we are buying from the USA, because we can no longer build military equipment ourselves?
Still feeling smug about the classic Russians who at least had the brain to not outsource their army entirely?

Assumes all Russian news are lies. Because "we have a free and neutral press and theirs is state run", uses "kyivpost" as source....
The real comedy here is that most major press outlets in the West are also "state run" in reality. The codependency and overlap between govt. and the private sector assure it. You want access, you write what they like. One of the most common criticisms of media watchdog orgs in the past 10 years is that the press have become little more than stenographers and, even worse, cheerleaders for the ever-profitable war machine. All rather obvious to anyone paying attention, but perhaps not so much to kiddies arguing about who has the best tanks.
This made me chuckle.

Clearly nothing to see there at all.

How is this a response to what I wrote? Why point me to different video that edited out the fact that the tank drove away under it's own steam? Don't get me wrong, I think reporting on the fact that the new tank broke down (or rather seems to be operated by inexperienced crew more like) is fine. I am just saying that it's hardly worth the gloat, especially editing out the happy resolution to the incident just seems desperate...

I'm surprised it's even news at all outside of some military magazine or blog or something.

Of course if they had not captured them in the first place in direct violation of international law, this would not have been necessary.

An article is full of high certainty words such as: "reportedly", "there are repeated signs", "seems" and "Reuters spoke with five, including two who said that their main reason was not wanting to serve in Ukraine."http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/rus...
That's from the same news agency that brought us this: http://rt.com/news/245141-reuters-witness-misrepor...
You may be right of course, but like everything in this conflict a lot of accusations are flying left right and centre with not a whole lot to back them up (this goes for both sides). Meanwhile those who readily swallow everything that is being reported to them by either side, are the same idiots who call for escalation, refusing to even acknowledge the possibility of being partially wrong... It's just sad, but nothing new...

Anyhow it's moot... the only people who matter in this regard are NATO, and they have already made up their minds quite a while back.

This has potential to be more damaging to Ukraine economically, than the secessionist insurgency. A remarkably generous supra-national or sovereign benefactor might provides some blank cheques, but I doubt it.
