Five Thirty Eight is probably the most reliable source, as it weights the polling organisations on their historical accuracy, amongst other things.
FiveThirtyEight has Obama with a 92.2% chance of winning tonight. But for Jim and the Captain and Jeff, don't be downhearted guys, Nate still thinks that Willard has a 7.8% chance........

close election? hahahahahahahahahahahah
One word of caution. The GOP have done everything possible to supress voter turnout amongst certain groups of voters who traditionally vote Democrat. That supression attempt, whether by phoney voter id laws (mostly overturnned by the courts but that has not stopped the GOP putting up billboards in such states erroneously warning people that they have to bring photo id)), letters to registered voters telling them they are not registered and straight forward electoral fraud by companies paid million directly by the GOP (see Strategic Allied Consulting / Nathan Sproul) continues and today there will thugs from TrueTheVote and other shadowy tea party backed groups intimidating voters at the polls in swing states. If the Democrat vote is not supressed by these and other tactics this won't be that close. If the supression and intimidation works it will be closer. Either way Obama will prevail.
GO BO!

You ability to skip over the previous comment showing the same tactics from the Dem's is uncanny, you really do live in your own little world don't you?
Because there isn't any. What the GOP did was systematic and financed by the republicans. You can always find the odd rogue ballot or person and highlight it. This was institutional voter rigging and I hope there is a federal inquiry into SAC and Sproul after the election.Edited by unrepentant on Tuesday 6th November 14:40

ahh, voters. you gotta love em. Quoted from the guardian's live blog:
[interviewing a voter who just voted for Romney] Why the switch? "I voted for Obama in 2008 because I wanted change. But our country is in such peril right now. We gave him his chance, he's had four years to prove himself, but our little town is in peril. Funds are being cut from schools, from hospitals. Now it's Romney's turn."
Yes - because the first thing Romney will do is increase spending on schools and hospitals. Sigh....
Yep, the largest groups that will vote for Romney are whites over 65 and white males with no college degree. The vast majority of both those groups are voting against their own economic interests.[interviewing a voter who just voted for Romney] Why the switch? Slightly off topic but why do American politicians keep the title of their positions even after leaving their posts?
Romney is always referred to as 'Governor' Romney. Bill is also referred to as 'President' Clinton.
It's a 'merican thing. Even old Newt is still called Speaker Gingrich. Coaches are also called Coach for the rest of their lives, even if they were college coaches with losing records.Romney is always referred to as 'Governor' Romney. Bill is also referred to as 'President' Clinton.
The British have a similar system though. Tony Blair when PM was always referred to as "That Arse Tony Blair" and he still is.

I reckon that if the Democrats retain Virginia, it's all over. That'll be at around midnight UK time, so I'll wait for that result and probably go to bed.
Otherwise I'm going to be up all night watching the damn results......
Any sort of Obama victory in Virginia will be very bad news for Romney. A Romney win there will keep things on ice for quite a while. I doubt they will call it as early as you think this time but we will see.Otherwise I'm going to be up all night watching the damn results......
Intrade odds have moved sharply towards Obama today. They were 67% yesterday, now 71.5.

Wisconsin, Michigan & penn are blue.
if Ohio goes, mitts running outta options even with Florida.
Obama has won every swing state that's been called. He's winning Ohio comfortably, if he wins Florida you can all go to bed.if Ohio goes, mitts running outta options even with Florida.
Joe Donnelly beats Richard Mourdock to take one of the safest republican seats in the country.

Looks like Florida is going to Obama, Ohio too. N Carolina and possibly Virginia are the only 2 swing states that Romney seems to have been in the frame for.
I think we are close to seeing the election called for the President quite soon.
Senate seems sewn up too. The popular vote should be interesting though.I think we are close to seeing the election called for the President quite soon.
Popular vote is irrelevant really, the election is decided on the electoral college and he's going to win that big. They campaign to win the electoral college and spend their money to win that. I live in a red state, Obama has not spent one penny here. He's spent it where it matters.
Iowa and New Mexico just called for Obama.
MENDACITY FAILS!
Great victory for the American people who have re-elected a president who has achieved so much and now has a chance to finish the job.
Faced with a choice between a man who thought that he could lie and lie and invent and flip flop and on the other side a president of true integrity the American people stood tall.

Not too many republicans here tonight. Kudos to the captain for showing his face.
Disagree with you about the popular vote though Skip. Obama may well take it or lose it very narrowly but that's not the point. All the resources went to the swing states and Obama is going to pretty much sweep them. If he'd campaigned in Texas and Indiana and California and Kentucky and Illinois he'd have picked up plenty more voted but the states would have stayed where they were and it would have made no difference to the result of the election. He concentrated the resources where they needed to be concentrated.
No sign of that Guano or whatever he's called with the moronically dumb right wing blog saying that all the polls were wrong and Romney was well ahead that he kept quoting.

Slippery is refusing to concede Ohio! It's been called by every news network including FOX but Willard stays deluded to the end.
80% Reporting. Obama leading by about a thousand votes. From what I just heard on the radio, most of what's reporting in Nevada is coming from the Las Vegas area. Florida and Virginia are razor thin. It's a long shot but he could yet win. I wouldn't concede if I were him.
If nothing else (And I doubt you will) it's very much worth noting how close this race is.
