As Jenner said, it's not a cabinet anymore, it's a server. All those hardrives, all those transactions, all that data. Sepp would have to have a really big magnet. biggrin

One thing that's becoming increasingly obvious is the legion of supporters that Blatter seems to have around him. You know coz he brought football to Africa or something.

He doesn't need a big magnet if he has hundreds of small ones working non-stop for 16 weeks.

Blatter and his predecessor (the Brazilan, Havelange) broke UEFA's supremacy and handed out votes to all the little countries on purpose. When you give a few hundred thousand to small country to build plastic pitches, some of it is very easy to siphon off - and hey presto, votes!

Of the 209 voting states, Africa and Asia is 100. Easy!

The Africans have already said they'll vote for Blatter's anointed successor.

Bets on Jack Warner being found dead by suicide or natural causes before the year is out.
You didn't include radiation poisoning?
He'd also be well advised to avoid second-storey rooms with a balcony and pointy iron railings below, just in case he gets gravity poisoning.
He did say he fears for his life, the bent fk.

Trial pending of course wink

I think Blatter will escape time, but its known the US take blue collar crimes very seriously so I think if anything has been done on US soil they will look to get time for some people. Just depends on who can cut what deal with the FBI
This is white collar crime though.

You only need to look at Bernie Madoff and Alan Stanford to know the US authorities don't like big scale fraud etc.

+1

I'm surprised the FBI can write it all down fast enough!

Well, it was a joke.

I concur with the poster above that reckons the US authorities wouldn't move unless they had the data to secure their wins.

On matters like this I'd tend to agree. However the US authorities have been really crap at prosecuting any of the sporting stars when it all looked pretty slam dunk from the outside. It'll be interesting to watch though.

Blatter will be desperate for incarceration if the Russians genuinely fear losing their WC rights and send the polonium pill brigade out and about. Whilst the whole thing is extremely serious I think it's going to be a lot of fun watching them all crumble like the weak charlatans they really are.

Apparently FBI investigating last years WC in Brazil.

Not surprised, one Brazilian official in the clink, the other hoofed it smartish.

An awful lot of people will be making themselves look as small as possible, it seems

Jennings said he's passed the information on to the FBI. So the FBI have the information.

I think we should all remember that the US authorities were prepared to take down one of their own - against massive opposition and obfuscation.

These bu66ers don't like to lose and the Armstrong case took an awfully long time and meant leaning on an awful lot of people.

The problem is that ultra rich people don't often get convicted and even if they do, they hardly ever go to prison, and even if they do, they leave almost immediately.

Lots of money means they can afford to buy people, either dishonestly or go via lawyers. There is always, but always, a way out if you can afford it.

The best we can hope for is that Blatter leaves the FIA top job, and that is just a hope at the moment. What odds are being offered for Blatter still being in position this time next year?

Bernie Madoff had personal wealth of $126m (plus a further $800m+ of other interests) but he is 6 years into a 150 year sentence.
