Oh no, Silver has found another reason Brexit was a con job, along with the big red bus.
No no, you misunderstand as usual. I always knew the sovereignty argument was a lie. And, in fact, "Let'stake back control" was in the smaller print near the sills of the Big Red Bus, just under the £350m lie. It's edifying now to have David Davis admit the lie openly, and I'm wondering how that makes people who voted on that basis feel. Are you one of those defrauded Leave voters?
I was tempted to ask how the jam making was going

I wouldn't be envious of a bulls*itter, pitiful perhaps, mocking certainly.
Carry on whinging and complaining, most with any sense will move on to a brighter future, you'll carry on spinning your stories and remaining bitter, more fool you.
Once a loser...................

Are you one of those defrauded Leave voters?
I'd suggest you spend just 13 short minutes watching this. I would genuinely love to hear your thoughts on it.Are you one of those defrauded Leave voters?

I'm still not sure what exact point you're trying to make. What others might be thinking is a theme better directed at the Remain voters who either believed the litany of lies or went along with them tactically, the lies about about the end of western political civilisation, the sky falling in, £30bn of taxes/spending cuts, a year-long recession, more expensive mortgages, house price falls, etc.
Talk about being conned big-time. The lead players a PM and Chancellor no less lost their jobs and their reputations, meanwhile David Davis was promoted - he'd be gutted if he knew he'd got a failed brickbat mention in a mealy-mouthed post on PH.

Not too keen on jam myself but I am rather partial to a homemade chutney....what do you make yours with?
Slightly off topic but I like chutney tooI did Fig Chutney a couple of years ago - can't find the thread
But I did do green fig preserve and orange and fig marmalade last year

I'm still amazed at how many figs I get from a fig tree in the UK - hardly the perfect climate
I am a defrauded Leave voter.
I never really entertained the idea of voting Remain.
The hollow reforms, the scaremongering, the selective reporting of experts all consolidated my position.
On June 23rd I mostly expected a narrow Remain vote. A close result would still have sent a strong message but nothing really would have changed. Even if Cameron hadn't exactly covered himself in glory during the campaign he was a shrewd politician, and a steady reassuring sort of man popular enough to carry the large centre ground who didn't want the drama and disruption of a major constitutional upheaval. Who didn't want to be seen as backwards, racist thickos who believe the man in the pub over the lettered experts of dubious polls.
I realised early.on June 24th that I had been defrauded for decades. Massively.
Defrauded by governments of all parties who said that membership was vital to our national interest.
Defrauded by media who said that only racists and bigots even worried about EU membership.
Defrauded by academia whose bold claims don't stand up to reality.
Defrauded by soothsayers who said that nation states were a thing of the past and the future would international bodies with remote officials making decisions.
Defrauded by pundits who said that sovereignty was an abstract and outdated concept.
Defrauded by so called business leaders who claimed that the viability of their companies was impossible outside the EU.
Most striking of all on that glorious morning was just how absolutely fking useless all these people were, even at their own game.
Epitomisedby the shame faced David Cameron wearing the kind of expression you would expect to see when you ask a 12 year old why he is sitting in your parked motorbike.
He had called a referendum to heal the division in his party, ward off the electoral threat from UKIP and settle the question of EU membership for the foreseeable future.
He had catastrophically failed on every count.
He had failed inspite of the fact that he had every major political party, the trade unions, the state broadcaster, the President of the USA and the head of the UN onside to keep the status quo, people saw that it was a total bloody fraud.
Even the cynical politcising of the murder of Jo Cox in the final week couldn't persuade enough people to vote Remain.
I honestly think the Remain campaign would have done better had they not done or said anything.
If you're going to claim the right to govern how you want based on competence then you'd better at least be competent. And they weren't.
Forget £350m a week for the NHS. An obviously empty campaign slogan from an organisation which didn't even aspire to control government spending. The real fraud was the myth that our political establishment, if arrogant and aloof were competent and knew what they were doing.

That wasn't what they said before the referendum. They predicted the end of civilisation, plagues of locust etc the very next day.
I remember being questioned like the Spanish inquisition about my reasons lo leave. When I then tried to ask Remain voters why they wanted to stay they didn't really want to know and appeared to take the moral high ground with one word answers.

Looks like a new legal challenge today over the EEA ffs. I read about this a few weeks ago and got the feeling it could be quite tricky.
Could we legally leave the EU yet stay in the EEA?

Your Tim Farron-like assumptions that I voted because of this or that and that I was mislead here, is pure drivel bordering on your own arrogance and anger that I didn't vote the way you were expecting.
Shoving huge skip fulls of cash to the NHS was not something I wanted to blindly see happen. If I were in wind up mode, I would adopt the Remainer line and ask you if you understood or not that the £350m was just an advisory idea, and not a promise that a cross party group of people not running for government could implement.
As for 'taking back control', I'll be very happy when the UK parliament is back in control and actually emboldened, and the ECJ isn't playing it's part.
You only have to look at the last Euro elections to see how lazy and stupid things had become, a turn out of 35% and the winner being Ukip. Then there is the fact that even most Remainers have no clue who their MEP is or how the EU even works, yet blindly voting for it to continue anyway. Shame more of you pro EU people didn't actually turn up and vote. Bit late now to moan you missed the bus.
Edited to change MP to MEP correction.
