Cameron loses EU budget vote
Discussion
BTW Our own Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR), puts Britain's gross contribution to the E.U. in 2011 at £18.5bn, and our net contribution at £10.3 billion (12.6 bn Euros). This is more than two and a half times as much money as the European Commission says we are contributing.
I think I will believe the OBR, rather that Wiki.

There is another option:- Cameron goes to Brussels equipped with Maggies handbag, Churchills trousers and wrapped in the Union Jack, and tells all and sundry 'Cant Pay, Wont pay, deal with it'. 1)Vote for the increase.
2)Vote against the increase.
3)Veto the vote.

I'm not normally a reader, but this is the headline on Google News as of 20 minutes ago
The tide has turned against Europe's dictatorial arrogance. Mr Cameron can swim with it - and be a hero - or go under

Well of course it will - I can't think of any politicians that wouldn't spin it. The best I can say is that whilst Cameron doesn't do what I want on the EU, he's far tougher on them than the alternatives.
He talks tougher, but what has he actually done? He rolled over on the Lisbon treaty, he hasn't got any significant powers back from the EU, and he absolutely will not use the possibility of leaving as a basis for negotiation. The EU is a one way ratchet of power flowing from the UK to Brussels, and unless he's prepared to repeal the laws signing us up to the treaties of European Union, then he's not much different to the rest.
