Foster Children removed from couple for UKIP membership

Oh thanks. I never thought of looking on the UKIP website...
Well, you can read it from there, or I could invent some utter baloney for you to read. Andy Zarse said:
What I was asking, as you realise fine well, is what particular policies you were referring to. Which is why I used the word precisely in my original question.
Actually, I have no idea what you're talking about. You've lost me. I said that someone from Rotherham Borough Council thinks that UKIP's policies promote discrimination. I don't think that they do, but clearly someone from the council does.

This is why so many needy children are in care homes, too many over zealous officials with warped ideas on who should and shouldn't offer warm and loving homes to children who's immediate need is a warm bed and a full tummy and not an ethnic or politicaly compatable situation.
Agreed 100%. In the hierarchy of needs, the politics should be a long way down the discussion list after warm, secure, loving home.We don't know why the parents joined UKIP. It may be because they support their policy on reintroducing smoking in pubs, and I am sure they would love the children and do all they could for them.
However, if you were a child from country x and you see UKIP material every day that says we should end our membership of the EU so people from country x stop coming here and taking our jobs would you feel loved?
Dennis MacShane, the disgraced ex-Labour MP, who Farage calls a scumbag (deservedly so) caused the forthcoming By-Election in Rotherham to be held in 5 days time.
A giant thanks to Mr MacShane and to the crazy Rotherham Council today - you have just given us (well, me and a lot of other UKIP supporters) just what we want, the first real chance to get the first UKIP MP.
At last, UKIP will be on the 'real' march.
Just listened to Farage on the news... brilliant retaliation by him.

@engineer, you support the decision then?
a decision has been made by some one who hopefully has more facts to hand and knows what they are doing, one side or the other has now gone to the press with their half of the story. I suspect when / if the whole story comes then there will be more to it than just the stuff as reported, trial by press and forum ends up with people second guessing the person making the decision but with a smaller amount of facts.purplepolarbear said:

UKIP favour controlled immigration. Just to add i'm a second-generation immigrant and I don't have any problems with UKIP - but i don't vote for them. To be honest, i'd be more annoyed if some looney-leftie from a [Labour] council thinks they can speak for me or anyone else.raptor600 said:
If they were that racist surely they wouldn't have wanted to look after these kids in the first place?!
That's why the decision appears to be quite illogical. I'm looking forward to seeing the official cross-examined over their decision.Edited by fido on Saturday 24th November 11:25

Are you saying these foster parents were throwing anti-immigration propaganda at these kids every day and leaving UKIP material lying around everywhere?Engineer1 said:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-20474120There is an explanation as to what's happened there. Joyce Thacker even says that she believes that UKIP has a policy of "ending multiculturalism". It doesn't, and she's a fking moron.
What more do you expect to be revealed? The foster parents don't want to be identified, and the council have demonstrated that they are a thick as pig st.

So are we to assume that Rotherham Council would be happy for foster children to be in the care of people with far left views, SWP, CPGB etc?
Spot on. Are these social workers now saying that only people who support Labour or the Conservatives can foster? UKIP have people of many ethnic backgrounds, in fact I seem to remember that they have a Jamaican candidate. There was a big deal last year that kids were being left in council care because the policy was to place children with one ethnicity with adults of the same ethnicity and that it should be scrapped so we could get the children into loving homes, whatever the ethnicity of the adults/kids.
These left-wing councils make such a big deal about multi-culturism yet block this. Stunning.
Also, from what I heard on the tv so it may be wrong, the council didn't ask them about their political affiliations, a "concerned member of the public" contacted them to tell them the foster parents were members of UKIP. Shades of the Stasi, where neighbours denounce one another because of their political views.

Odd view, considering both parties appear to be saying the same thing. It appears to centre on the UKIP being a racist party or not, that simple.Engineer1 said:

If you can look on the BBC website there is an interview by the council worker who made the decision and explains the reasons. Both sides of the story appear to match but probably best to view it yourself.Oakey said:

I thought so too. He came across very well indeed.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HiwCMcR2jx8
Millipede wants an urgent investigation into Rotherham Council (idiot LABOUR controlled!). I bet he does - ha ha ha.
It seems kind of ironic that pretty much any mouth breather out there can have as many children as they want and do as piss poor a job of bringing up those children so far as teaching them morals and values and that's absolutely fine, the state won't be involved whatsoever.
Yet two people who have actually volunteered for the tast of bringing up other peoples children, which cannot be an easy task as you'd assume some of these children haven't had the best of lives, have the children taken away from them, with no suggestion that they've actually been doing anything but an excellent job, simply because they're members of a political party.
