The name Mahatma is more likely to be Indian than pakistani (as pakistan is predominantly Muslim, and India is predominantly Hindi.
Minor semantics are a moot point on the usual name based jokes. Think of how many Chinese name based jokes are in existance.
That's kinda the point i was making .. it's a bad joke because it implies that the person telling it is ignorant. I mean there are some really clever but extremely offensive jokes that have had me in stitches .. but then again i'm just a tedious c8ck who got b8mmed regularly by the PE teachers when i was at Grammar School.Minor semantics are a moot point on the usual name based jokes. Think of how many Chinese name based jokes are in existance.

The reviewer was pointing out that in the new series Friar Tuck was black and that in 14th century England that would have been somewhat unusual. The presenter then apologised for the reviewers comments!
... along the lines of "Now, Gentle Listener, be prepared that what those nasty, nasty Members Of The Public have said may be slightly offensive", totally missing the point that the Gentle Listener and Members Of The Public are the same bunch of people? I know the sort of thing. Trying to pretend that holding this sort of point of view is only done by the minority.

Can we do a counter-complaint so they put it back in the podcast and withdraw the DJ's distancing comments.
